Pours a murky orange brown- no head to speak. Nose is of ripe fruit and hop twang. Taste- pine and citrus- a real mix of hops in this one. Must be some pretty high alpha hops as lots of oily resin. Malt is well presented with a caramel and cookie dough flavour. Not cloying for the booze level- real nice stuff. Finishes dry and oily. Good balance and booziness is pretty subdued. Good drinkabilty for a big beer. Best Fish Tail I’ve tried (esp compared to the stale shit the MLCC brings in that must have fallen off of a truck somewhere).

lots of hops... very wide range of hop taste. some maltiness, good ’bite’, but not as hoppy or as bitter as you’de think from reading the bottle.

Bottle from Bottleworks in Seattle. Dark coppery brown with small off-white head. Has a nice sweet malt tast with a very good hop bite. Nice hop linger for the aftertaste. This is a great beer. The hops are solid and the malt isn’t too sweet or too much. Keep up the good work.

’06 22oz Clear copper w beige head. nice fresh toasted malt, some alcohol, and many high end hop pleasantries in the nose. flavor is as above with a touch of applefruit. Alc is noticable, but well integrated. a nice spiciness on the palate with the everpresent full, resinous, hop aromas and flavors. Well balanced with the rich malt, well into full bodied imp IPA. I’d like to compare with 90 minute. I think this might beat it.

bottle: pours a rusty orange colour with off white head. aroma is grapefruit and pine like hops and sweet malts. the flavour is starts out with the sweet caramel malts and blends into a very nice hop bitterness that is citrus, floral and earthy and also has some fruit like flavours in the mix. quite a nice balance of hops and malts and hides the 10% very well.

Orangey brown with a quick-fading tan head. Aroma is citrusy, floral and sweet. Taste is same, and even bitterness is nicely complimented by the malt. $4/12oz

Bottle. I would definitely classify this as a double IPA rather than an American Strong Ale. Slightly occluded brown-amber pour with a creamy head. Amazing bouquet of hops. Awesome hop flavor as well. Even with ten types of hops, it is so well-balanced that it comes across as a finely tuned symphony of floral, hoppy delights. Rich malt backbone too (enough that even 100 IBUs doesn’t seem too bitter at all), but the hops definitely stand in the spotlight in this one. Awesome brew.

Bottle via trade with drewbeerme, thanks!! Pours a dark copper color with a quickly diminishing tan colored head. Aroma is caramel malts, toffee, grapefruit, pine, orange zest. Flavor is toffee, caramel, grapefruit, pine, orange, alcohol, slight oak though not very noteworthy. Palate is medium to full bodied, slightly less than medium carbonation, dticky, sweet yet dry. Awesome beer, reminds me a lot of FFF Alpha King. Silky as all get out. A++
