| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 28, 2007 A good American Ale; closer to an IIPA than a strong ale, it seems to me. There’s a bit of cloying alcohol/caramel malt, but otherwise, it seems pretty unbalanced with the hops. It was a fine beer, but it has the base to be a great beer. bgburdman9 (823), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Pours a dark orange with not much head and looked pretty flat. Aroma was very similar to an aged barleywine or IIPA. A little lingering hops coming through. Pretty good I would have loved to try this fresh. spector (906), Lancaster, Ohio, USA

Murky orange and brown color. Full palate. Sweet malty flavor dominates and the hops have lost most of thier properties at this point. Would have loved to taste this one when it was younger to compare. glkaiser (1172), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 9, 2007 Dark clear amber with medium head. Nice mix of mellow sweet malt with nice hops. Oh yeah...yumminess. Big burnt malt with lots of hops coming through. A tad bitter towards the finish, but with 100 IBUs, it is toned down well. Decent amount of alcohol is present in the taste.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 8, 2007 Dark copper/red body, quite big bubbled beige head; Not to big a nose with hop, alcohol and caramel sweetness, it is to thin; Quite thin body, a bit watery texture, sharp carbonation, bitter and sweet; Medium length in bitter a little hasrh and a little sweet finish, ordinary hop and caramel aromas. This beer is just to much "exactly what I expected" - NO surprises, well the surprise is that I expected quite a bit from this been and didn’t get it. Thanks Iowaherkeye. kramer (2517), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Feb 6, 2007 12 oz bottle, via footbalm. Pours a cloudy dark copper colored body under a fizzy dark beige head that receded quickly to a thin film leaving some light lacing. Aroma is well balanced between sweet toffee and caramel malt and piney citrusy hops. Some light alcohol, yeast, and brown sugar. Flavor reveals quite a bit of papery oxidation overpowering the sweet malt leaving mostly sharp bitterness with no hoppiness. Finishes with some alcoholic burn. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, but a little thinned out in texture from the age I assume. Soft lightly fizzy carbonation. I expected a lot more viscosity from this. Overall, this was probably just too far over the hill. Drink ’em if ya still got ’em from one of the 12oz bottle batches. buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 1, 2007 Pours a dark clear amber with a small off white head and sticky lacing. Aroma is very nice. Almost smells more like a barleywine. Candied malts and rich bitter hops. Flavor also seems more like a barleywine. Dark ripened fruits and barley. It is quit hoppy also but it is a deep rich hop. Finish is mild dry and bitter. Very good.
