Pours a beautiful thick and dark amber with a very thin light tan head that disperses to the edge of the glass quickly. The head actually sticks around for the whole bottle/glass. Aroma is amazing with notes of sweet and bitter hops, citrus, honey, and malt. I would honestly consider this barleywine the taste is so similar. The taste is very mild and sweet at first of a
sweet hop note, and oranges, which then moves into a more mildly bitter
hop note that has a malt backing to it. Somewhat complex. Lots of flavors going on in the mouth. Surprisingly hides the 10% quite well also. I loved this one!! Not as hoppy on the bitter side as I would have though. This one is damn good and I’m sure will age damn well! Steib (581), Queen Creek, Arizona, USA

A lot of maple syrup in the aroma with light hints of fruit and dates. Smooth yet waxy flavor, nicely bitter not overwhelming. Sweet bitter warming aftertaste. Gotta love the hops. jujutsuweasel (6), Olympia, Washington, USA does not count | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 21, 2006 Found this stuff on accident, while I was down at the brew pub. In short, I love it. First of all, 10% ain’t bad, and I’m a huge fan of the hops.
Anybody who likes Arrogant Bastard, I think, will love this stuff. Nice dark amber, pungent in the most pleasant of ways. cbkschubert (2027), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA

Strong citrus hop aroma and flavor. Backed with some sweet malt flavor. Can’t detect any oak presence as the desciption mentions. Medium to full body. Slight alcohol warming. This beer and Arogant Bastard would be a good side by side test. A must try Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Medium bodied with sweet fruit and alcohol for flavor. Dry fruit peel on the palate. Good thing a swill was handy to take some that dryness away. turbo (1254), Arizona, USA

The aroma had some sweet caramel and grapefruit. Somewhat musty in the nose. The taste was sweet caramel with some toast and walnuts. There is also some strong orange rind. Not as hoppy as I would have thought. Solid.
