Floral hop aroma with deep rich sweet malts as well. Overall this beer was well balanced, hops and sweeter malt both shine, with a dry bitterness in the finish. Well hidden alcohol, I was not figuring this to be 10%. PorterPounder (3147), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

The pour is murky dark orange with a thin off-white head with sticky lacing left on the glass. Aroma of fresh citrus laced fruit salad and juicy fruit gum. Delectable, nectar-like flavor with some bold citrus notes, but not bittering. Some nectarine in there as well with a hint of mint in the back end. Very well rounded flavor, slightly nutty as well. 10% ABV hidden extremely well and it is creamy smooth. Another winner from one of my favorite breweries. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 19, 2005 Amber with a fair amount of off white head. Malty and woody nose. Mostly caramel malts with some hops present, finishes somewhat astringent. I was expecting more of a hop presence, so I was somewhat dissapointed. Decent brew overall. I was surprised that this was 10% ABV, the beer hides it well. jazz88 (2238), San Francisco, California, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 18, 2005 Bottle: Courtesy of Styles. Lots of malt and lots of hops in the aroma. Lots of caramel and toffee with enough citrus hops to balance. Pours a dull reddish-orange with no transparency and small white head that quickly fades to a ring. Lots of malt up front with caramel and toffee and barely some fruit. Finish is mostly floral and piney hops as opposed to the citrus in the nose. Some woodiness. Alcohol is covered up nicely. Hops linger for some time in the aftertaste. Caramel comes on moderately strong initially in the aftertaste too, but quickly fade while the hops last. Mads Langtved (2246), Copenhagen K, Denmark

The aroma is sweet and very hoppy with some fruityness in the back ground combined with the alcohol. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of caramel as well as hops, alfa acids, and alcohol. The end is very lovely bitter.
