| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 1, 2007 bottle.....pours an orange brown hue with a thin temporary white head and nice lacing down the sides....aromas of sweet caramel malt and light tropical fruits. traces of dark fruit...flavors of a nice mixture of hops and malts but the hops eventually take over. hops are of the pine resin variety and the malts added a nice caramel dimension to the beer. i don’t get too much of the oak flavoring however. gosh this should be close to a DIIPA.....a nice ASA, thats for sure. blankboy (3250), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 27, 2007 Bottle shared with and courtesy of jerc & mabel. Pours a clear orange-amber with a small semi-lasting beige head. Very nice aroma of hops, fruit, caramel malt, wood and alcohol. Flavour’s quite boozy but still good, with fruit, wood, caramel malt and a good amount of hops. Medium bodied. Quite enjoyable, I couldn’t drink a ton of this due to how boozy it is but it’s still pleasant. jerc (3950), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Dark amber body with a moderate creamy beige head. Boozy aroma is fruity with malt undertones. (7+) Light alcohol burn to the flavour and palate mellows after a bit. Mild fruit, rough caramel saturated grains. Medium palate. (3+) Decent, but strikes me as best enjoyed in small quantities. asteele8 (270), Mukilteo, Washington, USA

Aroma is citrus, big amounts of caramel malts, and vanilla. Flavor is full of toffee and caramel with piney hops coming in. Nice mixture of bitterness and sweetness on the tongue. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 28, 2007 Courtesy of Badgerben. Nice fruit and malt aroma. Orange in color. Fruit and and malt flavor with considerable smoke in the aftertaste. The hops are there but seem like an afterthought, not really so bitter, I suspect the age has something to do with that. matt7215 (993), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada

Citrusy aroma, along with plenty of hops and a little smoke, beechwood style. Sweet malt taste with the same smoke and citrus from the aroma. I really liked this one. Too bad it’s all gone. Slightly hazy amber golden with an off-white head, leaving laces. Fresh aroma of citrus and fat hop oils. Full-bodied, sweetish caramel, perfumy hop accents and then a very brutal bitterness. I find this out of balance with a very pushy alcohol. 150907
