Slightly hazy amber golden with an off-white head, leaving laces. Fresh aroma of citrus and fat hop oils. Full-bodied, sweetish caramel, perfumy hop accents and then a very brutal bitterness. I find this out of balance with a very pushy alcohol. 150907 kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

clear dark amber, can be stirred into a thin tan head that sticks around a while, strong earthy hop aroma on a rich carmel malt base, big body, rich carmel malt flavor, only a touch of sweetness that grows into some sticky pine, lots of bitter earthy hop flavor leading to a long bitter finish, slightly hot

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 26, 2007 Reddish copper, nice rocky off-white head. Huge caramel aroma, maybe a touch of bourbon and vanilla. Smooth, rich palate. At first you get a touch of sweet, like brown sugar or something, then a very earthy, unrefined hop finish. As it warms, some fruitier notes emerge, too. mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 21, 2007 Pours a cloudy light brown color with a thin off white head. Big, malty, carmael aromas fill the air. Also get a little breadyness to it as well. The taste has a pretty evident bitterness to it, alot of that malt and a bittersweet caramel or cinnamon flavor to it. The mouthfeel seemed a bit watery, although not enough to take away from the flavor. I really couldnt get past the bitter aftertaste of it though. Didnt leave a very good taste in the mouth. Sweet toffee aroma with spice. Sweet brown sugar and toffee flavor, vanilla, oak, and spicy hops. the only drawback was a bit of a solvent/alcohol taste throughout. Dark brow color with faint white head. Sweet body with hints of cereal malts and citrus hops. Dry sweet hop finish. Skyview (4111), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 1, 2007 Picked up a 12-oz bottle from Bob’s McFarland Liquors in McFarland, WI. Pours a semi-hazy caramel amber brew with a yellowish beige head (first time I saw a head color like that!) that slowly dissolves with good retention. Aroma of both citrus and grassy hops, caramel malt, with some light totfee. Taste is lightly sweet, medium bodied with light carbonation. Flavors of spiced apple sauce, caramel malt, and lots of alcohol warmth. Finish is slightly dry, alcohol burn with an iced tea flavor in the aftertaste. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 31, 2007 Amber, very thin white head. Aroma is oak, dried fruit, light alcohol, some toffee. Taste is a tea sweetness, with alcohol, nice smooth hoppiness to it with caramel, and maple syrup. Nice brew for sure.
