The aroma is sweet and very hoppy with some fruityness in the back ground combined with the alcohol. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of caramel as well as hops, alfa acids, and alcohol. The end is very lovely bitter. Papsoe (15103), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Slightly hazy amber golden with an off-white head, leaving laces. Fresh aroma of citrus and fat hop oils. Full-bodied, sweetish caramel, perfumy hop accents and then a very brutal bitterness. I find this out of balance with a very pushy alcohol. 150907 omhper (12247), Stockholm, Sweden

Hops doemintes from start to finish, the 10% alcohol is completely overpowered. Full bodied and thick with layer after layer ofsoapy grapefruit, and a tremendously bitter finish. joergen (8627), Frederiksberg, Denmark

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 13, 2005 Golden-amber coloured. Spicy, minty aroma with hints of toffee. The flavour has a lot of elements - toasty, bitter, woody, hints of caramel. But having a lot of things going on doesn’t matter if they don’t work together. Throwing a bunch of stuff in the kettle is not the path to great beer, which is a shame because some of Fish’s other beers show that they know this. argo0 (6978), Washington DC, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 28, 2004 Minimal beige head atop floatie-filled opaque copper. Aroma is sweet, pine, grapefruit, toffee/maple, light oak. Taste is medium sweet, caramel/toffee at the start, but quickly turns to big pine, some grapefruit, some caramel, oak. Full body that conceals the alcohol well. Not for the faint of heart, but those of hearty constitutions will be richly rewarded. Maria (6307), Thisted, Denmark

It is beautiful, hazy, red-brown with a small, creamy head. The aroma has notes of fruity hops, citrus, spruce, malt, caramel and raisin. The flavour has sweetness and notes of citrus (mostly the orange varieties), spruce, fruit, malt, caramel, raisin, light alcohol and a light bitterness in the finish. It is nice and harmonic.
