eaglefan538 (2355), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Dec 15, 2006 Ah, for a blonde it had flavor, but it wasn’t all that great of a flavor. The pour was golden with slight orange hues. Nice initial head, quickly fades, but the lacingg was ok. The aroma was fruity with some wheat notes. The flavor was grainy, fruity, and wheaty, somewhat vegetal, herbal, musty underneath it all, leaving a less than optimal experience, but not a terrible one. Mouthfeel was moderate to heavy for the style but overall light medium. Not bad. Not great. nick76 (2634), Tampa, Florida, USA Nov 15, 2006 The aroma has salt, peat, butterscotch, apricots, oak, and syrup. The appearance is amber gold with a big head. The flavor is not as complex as the aroma but most of the elements are present, especially the peat. The palate is average but nice. Overall I like it but it’s not like any golden ale I have had but maybe thats a good thing. chimpscampee (556), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Oct 16, 2006 A faint salty, oily, ashen salmon/ fishiness (taste more than smell) to go with fish on label, but not as much and as bad as the FT IPA . I do not think I’m imagining it, guys. Earthy. piney, and ashy due to lack of hops, but better balance and spice than their ipa. workerbee (5), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada does not count Sep 10, 2006 Smells of cornbread, kind of "yeasty" and slight apple sauce arouma. A beautiful tangerine colour with a slight head and slightly hazy. You can see through it, but not right through to its soul. Moderately sweet taste with an ever-so-slight bitter aftertaste. At first, I didn’t really like it, but the more I taste it, the more I want to drink it. A light body with slight carbonation makes this beer delicious. It is a good summer beer for lake time sippin’. Overall, I would say this beer is good. piscator34 (1121), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Sep 10, 2006 Dark blonde in colour with strong carbonation. Aromas of pale malt and citrus peel. Surprisingly full mouthfeel (it’s the rye). Flavors of rye bread, spicy hops, and some very mild citrus. Uncomplicated, but as far as a basic summer drinker goes, you could do much worse. Solid. Thanks to Presario for the extra. JPDIPSO (4863), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Aug 28, 2006 Hazed amber color with a tall fluffy dark cream colored head. Wild or even buckwheat honey aromas mix with some dry wood and caramel scents. Light and quite airy, somewhat expected after seeing the pour. Honey and rye, with some mild smoke seems to seep in. An interesting brew, that I enjoy from a aspect that I am not sure that are intended, but I’ll take them. DuffMan (2719), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada Aug 16, 2006 A terrific golden ale, very similar in profile to their pale ale, but not quite as heavily hopped. That being said, the hop character is still fairly generous, giving this beer lots of flavour. realale420 (399), west covina, California, USA Aug 14, 2006 12oz bottle poured a clear yellow/gold with a very small white head. Aroma had a piney hop nose with some corn notes and a slight yeast character. Taste was well balanced with a dry aftertaste. Nice drinkable blonde ale.
