Bradrcr (778), Renton, Washington, USA May 10, 2007 On Tap at the Brewery. Don’t know why, but was far more partial to this than the other reviewers. Light aroma, sweet malt forward, with slight hop bittering notes. Excellent appearance for style, clear gold. Flavor was again sweet malt forward; some banana notes, low on the bittering side with a clean, creamy texture. Thought it was very easy drinking, could just do to be a bit more complex. AlabastorJones (762), San Francisco, California, USA Nov 5, 2005 abnormally brown for a blonde, nose is malty piss and banana, awesome flavor its tastes kind of roasty?!?!? BEST BLONDE EVER!! Vertical Bacon Strips (874), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada May 30, 2009 Amber, going orange - lots of tiny suspended micro-particles. Very clear with some head which sticks quite well. Aroma? Lots! But it’s all quite mild but very fresh and good. Sweet fruity malts, overripe peaches, floral hops and a hint of yeast. Once it warms up, a bit of fake grapefruit shows up along side a dusty scent. The mild flavour of honey, malts and an undescribable spice increases and becomes much more obvoius when warmer. There’s also an almost sour bitterness as well. Yum yum. Medium bodied and a soft creaminess contrasts the tangy bitter aftertaste. I’d advise not rushing into this beer. Open it and let it sit for 10 minuits first to really see what this beer is all about. I’ve had it fresh out of the bottle and it’s way better after a bit. Left a tiny pile of sediment in the middle of the bottom of the glass. Very drinkable. Another excellent Fish Tale brew. The aroma is very hoppy for a blond with some musky 2-row & wheat coming up through the sweet pnw hoppiness. The flavor is balanced with a lean towards the sweet side. Very refreshing and clean hoppy blond ale. Quite good but standard for the region. matta (1137), Tampa, Florida, USA Sep 20, 2005 New In Town.
Pours a golden / copper body with a fluffy white head. The aroma and flavor shocked me with a great surprise! What I found was a rather luscious caramely and toffee suggestion. There was a wonderful toasty tobacco smoky spiciness to the beer that takes this Golden Ale into a entirely new world. I really loved the uniqueness of the smoky malts and the spicy woodsy hops. What a pleasant shock! - I find this to be a wonderful session beer!
HumuloneRed (750), Portland, Oregon, USA Aug 8, 2004 On tap @ the Fiishbowl. Clear golden hue with some head and lacing. Malty nose and clean malt profile in the flavor. Crisp dry finish. piscator34 (1121), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Sep 10, 2006 Dark blonde in colour with strong carbonation. Aromas of pale malt and citrus peel. Surprisingly full mouthfeel (it’s the rye). Flavors of rye bread, spicy hops, and some very mild citrus. Uncomplicated, but as far as a basic summer drinker goes, you could do much worse. Solid. Thanks to Presario for the extra. Bockyhorsey (2487), Mesa, Arizona, USA Aug 5, 2006 Bottle. Aroma had a decent lemon and burnt toast to it. Gold body with small white creamy head. Flavor a spicey up front with the lemon and some vanilla. Last swig left a vanilla malt aftertaste. Not overly bitter but some noticable. Decent brew and refreshing.
