I do not think I’m imagining it, guys. Earthy. piney, and ashy due to lack of hops, but better balance and spice than their ipa. beerinmarch (2800), Washington, USA

Stays on the sweeter side with a hard mineral palate. Malts were fruity wit a dry grainy taste and stayed sweet through the herbal hop finish. anders37 (4691), Malmö, Sweden

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 22, 2007 Bottle Pours a lightly hazy yellow witha small quick white head. Aroma of very light malts and honey. Flavor is a bit tart and some spice. Light palatte and mildy fizzy. A bit papery on the trailer and a noticeably alcohol note.
Odd though at only 4%. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 4, 2005 (12 oz bottle: Hi-Time Wine Cellars in Costa Mesa, CA) Sweet and somewhat sugary nose, perhaps a bit of caramel or honey in there, but not much in the way of malt or hops. The flavor is also somewhat sweet, surprisingly caramely (albeit light, but still...), and very light on malt or hops, but what’s up with this odd woody and slightly smoky flavor that emerges in the finish? Talk about coming out of left field! Light-to-medium bodied, but with only sweetness and no bitterness, it gets cloying and tiring on the palate. Pale amber color is fully clear. The small whitish head eventually fades to a small ring and leaves no lacing. Not terrible, but totally lacking any character or complexity. TipsyMcStager (928), Calgary, Alberta, Canada

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 22, 2008 Tasted at the May Northern California Beer Tasting. This blond ale pours a golden yellow color from a 12oz bottle. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, touch of vanilla. A medium bodied blond/golden ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are mild and slightly spicy. Crisp and clean. A light and refreshing tasting beer, with no major taste defects, but not a lot of flavor either. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet and fruity.
