Commercial Description:
Oak-aged Doppelbock is a full-bodied lager with a deep reddish-brown color. We’ve brewed it in the classic German tradition, with noble Hallertauer and Columbus hops added to Pale and Chocolate malts and a large portion of Munich malt . As a result, Detonator offers a malty aroma and palate, which is balanced by its relatively dry finish, plus the subtly melded character of the robust ales and fine Merlot which previously filled the oak. This lager is available seasonally in bottles and on draught.

A brown beer with a small brown head. The aroma is somewhat light with notes of wood, caramel, and alcohol, on a sweet background. The flavor is sweet with notes of over ripe fruits and light notes of alcohol. Nice.

(Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of boboski. Clear, reddish brown with a creamy, beige head. Aroma of roasted malts and rye bread. Fairly solid body with a huge base of roasted malt. The finish is dry with some bitterness. A very classical and neat Bock. 290308

Dark brown colour. Rich malty aroma - earthy, toffee, caramel all well extracted. Lots of toffee, hints of wood on the palate. Really chewy, almost molasses-like. Big malt finish. A touch simplistic and the flavour doesn’t come through as boldly as the aroma.
