Well done, interesting interpretation of a style that’s not my type.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 12, 2007 Red orange pour. Aroma of vanilla, raisin, pear, and citrus hops. Hop forward flavor, with some pine and a surprisingly dry finish. Not as full flavored which is preferred, but the aroma on this beast is absolutely divine. This is good, but at around $5 for a 12 oz bottle, there are other barleywines I’d recommend that are cheaper and more full bodied. Bartzilla (445), San Diego, California, USA

Rich, boozy and quite sweet. Very delicious. I liked this barley wine quite a bit. Naven (879), Poway, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 4, 2007 22 oz bottle. I picked this up at Bottleworks in Seattle several months ago. This pours a nice dark amber color, and has a great aroma of hops and caramel. The carbonation was there, but it was similar to a cask beer, actually. Pretty good. matt7215 (996), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 22, 2007 (bottle - 22 oz: 2006 vintage) Clear copper color with little carbonation and no head. Aroma is light. Mostly hops with some light caramel notes underneath. Flavor begins slightly bitter with a smooth sweetness in the middle and a very bitter and floral finish. Aftertaste lingers on the palate and leaves some burnt coffee taste. OSLO (829), Minnesota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 14, 2007 [Bottle, I believe 1 year old] Pours deep reddish-amber with a small head. Aroma is mostly hops, with a little bit of malt. Taste is slightly bitter up front, then mostly malt and hops. Maybe a case of thinking I taste something after reading it, but after seeing the commercial description I definitely was able to recognize the pear and nuts also in the finish. Quite thick. Somewhat dry finish, which normally isn’t my thing, but works here. This isn’t too bad, but could definitely use some more age.
