A bottle shared by Springlicker. Light straw brown pour with a huge tight creamy head and lace. Aroma of light brown sugar and malt. Very nice sweet flavor that has hints of dried fruit and spice. Palate is solid and smooth carbonation is light which is surpring but good. Overall very nice beer. thanks Jay

(22 oz. bottle (8.5% ABV) via trade with <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?UserID=3 target=blank>TheCheeseMan, thanks Daniel!) Sweet, bready and a little hot...Pours cloudy golden amber with a half a finger of white head that recedes to a thin layer. Aroma of yeast, dark and sweet fruitiness, some malty candy and some alcohol. Mouthfeel is soft and sticky. Flavor is light sweet candyish malt and sweet fruit blended with some light bread and moderate alcohol presence. Enjoyed it with a mess of Maine shrimp in the shell and it went pretty well.

12 oz bottle. Poured a clear medium orange color. The head was off white and reduced to a thin film over a minute or two. The aroma was maltier than I had anticipated. The yeasty clove I had expected to dominate was overwhelmed by molasses, adhesive tape, raisin, toffee, alcohol, and even a bit of milk chocolate. Quite a hodge podge. The mouth feel was fairly smooth/velvety rather than effervescent. Not bad, but again, unexpected. Delicately sweet up front on the tongue with a dry spicy finish. The flavor was fruit dominated (cherry, plum) with hints of toffee, adhesive tape, and subdued perfume. Wierd as far as tripels go, but not bad.

Bottle: Pours a hazy orange with a nice sized sandy head. Nose is spicey and floral hops with some citrus. Flavor retains the traditional Belgian spices with some brown sugar and malty sweetness coming out. Retains a light amount of hops too. Thanks BuckeyeBoy for sharing.

Sampled blind at "Better Know a Style: Abbey Tripel" tasting. Lots of floaters in an orange colored beer with small off-white head. Aroma of dough orange and hoppy. Flavor is lots of bourbon, orange, hoppy, dough, vanilla, spice and yeast. Medium body and well carbonated. Ugh!
