Commercial Description:
"This classic Belgian Triple was aged in oak wine barrels for two months and then bottle conditioned. Monkfish is the color of nectar, medium bodied, with a sweet malt flavor and subtle hop aroma. Phil says it's good."

Fish Tale does it again - man this beer rocks - cloudy, burnt orange with thick white lacing, looks like fresh apple cider - yeasty, musty, earthy notes in the aroma, along with citrus, pears and apples - the flavor is outstandingly complex - first a mild sweetness, bananas and pears - grainy, bready flavors, earthiness - thick mouthfeel from the heavy dose of malts - darker fruits make appearances late, with even a hint of chocolate - hops come in last, giving a nice bite before the finish gives you a resurgence of the initial sweetness - this is really amazing stuff - I wish mail-order wasn't the only way I could get it.

What a drag i had it on order but just wasn't fast enough in the shipping to be the first rater.Dark amber or light brown color, cloudy with a medium sized light tan head with a long lasting power.Fruity, malty aroma with a spiciness to it,and a mild hop presence.Malty sweet taste with a nice fruit presence and mild hint of spice very faint hints of oak,you almost have to wish it to be there to be there.the feel is smooth and very drinkable, with an after taste that is spicy sweet with a maltiness and lite fruit presence.I have to agree with the other guys this will be a very fine brew, and the brew is just a little young for a fair rating.time will tell but like the others i think it will climb the ladder in time.

This one pours a cloudy, orange tinted amber color with a medium sized, white head that lasts. It has a strong aroma of peaches, pears, apricots, yeast, and malt. It has a medium to full body with a very rich, creamy, and smooth mouthfeel. The flavor is very rich and fruity with hints of peaches and apricots. The finish is very spicy and malty sweet. Fantastic!

2003 vintage:Hazy dark orange with small head; Citrus and red wine on the nose from the barrel ageing.Smooth on the palate, with an array of flavors unfolding in a very complex manner-god where to begin, vanilla, mint, a trace of smoke, brown sugar, rosemary, hop bitters and orange rind, mango, God I could go on and on. Theo oak is perhaps just slightly out of balance with the rest of the flavors but this should fold into the portfolio of other flavors with some bottle age. I'm very proud(and not a little surprised) to be the first to rate this beer!

Knock me socks off, I drank it wasy too fast when I was preoccupied with other stuff but it quickly brought me around to my task. Sweet spicy pears that warmed into apricots. Very smooth, delicious.

This one has a beautiful appearance. A dark amber coloring that resembles applesauce. It has a big frothy egg white head in the pour, and leaves some beautiful lacing after the fact. The aroma is wonderful, full of light fruits and mellow cinnamon spiciness. The flavor has some really nice complexities, the first tastes are of coconuts and carob, with some nice lingering flavors on the tongue. The first words out of my mouth are this is really really good. This is without a doubt my favorite trippel, and the best of this style that I have ever had.
