Commercial Description:
This is a black, medium-bodied, yet robust brew with a rich chocolate flavor and dry finish. The predominate flavor characteristic, that of smooth, dark, bittersweet cocoa, lingers on the palate from first pint to last. This is a hearty brew of seven varieties of malt, including Pale, Carastan, Crystal, Brown, Black, Munich, and an especially generous portion of Chocolate malt. Mudshark Porter gains its bitterness from Columbus hops, and its gentle hop flavor from a late addition of Willamette hops in the kettle.

On tap at brewpub. I love me a good porter...and this is tasty. Black with a chocolate aroma....also some espresso notes. Fairly light porter, but still packs in good taste. The aroma really comes through in the taste. Good hops finish for a porter. Awesome.

On tap at The Collins Pub into a Snifter glass. Pours a dark black that you cannot see through at all, with a thin tannish head. Aroma is of roasted malt, chocolate, figs, and dense coffee. Taste buds sense a very roasty brew near the start with the heavy coffee flavor moving into a smoother, creamier finish that touches on the chocolate. The coffee hangs around the palate well after the finish. Another solid brew from Fish Tale!

Pours a dark brown with a chocolote colored head. Smells like chocolote, caramel, and coffee. Tastes strongly of coffee with some nice caramel notes. Coats the mouth with caramel flavor, the coffee flavor is strangely absent in the aftertaste.

Tap at GCBF. Black beer, light tan head. Thin, light aroma, faint caramel, toffee and chocolate. A bit of fruity flavour with chocolate, malted milk, and a dry finish.

(Cask), had this at Rose and Raindrop. Dark brown, almost black with a small light brown head. Aroma of ovaltine and a little smokiness. Flavor has notes of malted milk balls, milk chocolate, some roasted and caramel malts and a touch of smoke at the end. Smooth, creamy medium body with no carbonation obviously. Very nice stuff.

Tap. Had this in a sampler yesterday. Didn’t take any notes but it had a well into medium bodied dark roasted malt flavor with a touch of alcohol. It had a bit of a green, cooked chocolate candy flavor but wasn’t too sweet. Interesting, it had more flavor than the Rogue chocolate stout.

Dark borwn and purple colored. Peppy, full bodied with a smoky and musty aroma, and an ash wood coating on the mouth. Some campfire wood smoke flavor and a semi-gritty texture. Very good all around porter, with a light cream and smoke nose.

On tap at the Taphouse in Seattle. Black pour with a creamy head. Chocolaty aroma. Smooth palate, roasty finish.
