Commercial Description:
Old Woody has been brewed in the style of English Old Ales. We have aged this beer in oak wine casks for six months before bottling it. Old Woody will age well for several years if stored in a cool dark cellar. Serve only lightly chilled, with a strong cheese and a hearty loaf of bread.

Bottle shared with Mds, Hogtown Harry, Blankboy, and Gregclow, courtesy of Harry. Dark brown, small beige head. Sweet aroma, lots of alcohol. Good taste - boozy, sweet, maybe some smoke. Nut much else going on - simple but very tasty!

Bottle (750ml) shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, tupalev & mds -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a deep ruby-orange with a small diminishing off-white head. Nice aroma of oak, dark malt, dark fruit, alcohol, maple sugar and a hint of smoke. Flavour’s also oaky along with alcohol, burnt malt, maple sugar and dark fruit. Medium bodied. Quite good, a little boozy but I liked it nonetheless.

Bottle. Pours a mahogany-brown body with a medium white creamy head. cherry aroma, earthy, smooth bourbon vanilla, alcohol. Tastes a bit alcoholic, otherwise toasty burnt malts and maple sugars. Not overbearing sweetness fortunately though as it goes down very smooth with hearty warmth.

Bottle (22oz). Shared with blankboy, GregClow, mds and tupalev - my’ bottle. Bright clear burnt copper pour with a small frothy head. Woody, dried leaf, boozy aroma, herbal hops - dry, nice! Taste - lots of burnt malt, much sweeter than the aroma, with whisky barrel undertones, and oak tannins in the long finish. Sticky, medium-thick body, quite astringent and alcoholic, with a long bitter almost carbonized finish. Very boozy and oaky-malt sweet, very good old ale.

75 cL bottle, thanks to sk8viking. Pours slight hazy brown with a white lacing head. Yes this is woody, slight dried fruity and and malty aroma. Flavour has the same with minor acidic note before the finish and a slight liqourice note.

Bomber. Pours a clear copper-ruby with a thin, even off-white head. Aroma is a mix of caramel and alcohol and a bit of white pepper. Some fruity malts come out as it warms. Medium-bodied. Taste is a robust maltiness touched by some heat and a light helping of hops and oak in the finish. Very nice as it warms.
