Poured a dark cloudy brown color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted woody malty aroma. Medium to heavy body. Medium to heavy woody bittersweet flavor with a medium woody finish of moderate to long duration.
This is a standout beer that is excellent for style.

Pours a beautiful ruby amber with light carbonation and nearly no head. Sweet aroma with hints of wood and apple cider. Good body - smooth and slightly thick, but not syrupy. The sweetness in the flavor is balanced by a dry hoppiness. porterhouse (1165), Alna, Maine, USA

Aroma of licorice, caramel, candyish malt and raisin. Mouthfeel fairly smooth, a tad sticky, about medium-full. Light weepy rings of lacing. Flavor of licorice, raisin and candyish malt. A fair bit of alcohol presence arises towards finish. A bit of a boozy wood presence and some smokyish malt. Some chocolate on the back of the tongue in warmer samples. At times this reminded me of both a doppelbock and a barleywine in terms of flavor and aroma. Pretty enjoyable big beer with some complexity but maybe a bit raw in terms of the alcohol-soaked feel. movezig (137), Pensacola, Florida, USA

Big creamy off-white head; impressive for 3-year-old botte. Strong notes of caramel, butter toffee, and vanilla on the nose, but not in a simple and sweet way... nice and complex. Slight wood/old taste. Malty with some hints of autumn/winter fruits. This is quite tasty and not cloyingly sweet. A great beer to savor. Skinnyviking (4193), Copenhagen, Denmark

Pours a hazy reddish tan color with a 2 finger off white head. Aroma is sweet caramel, toffee, hops and nuts. Smooth, sweet palate with minimal carbonation. Had some body to it too. Complex flavor with caramel, toffee, dark fruits, wood, nuts & pine hops all in there. This was a wonderful brew to drink sitting on my deck whiling away a beautiful Sunday afternoon. thewolf (5837), Kolding, Denmark

Pours a nice brown amber with small floaties - lightly hazy. An impressive, staying, light-beige creamy head. Super aroma. Oak, toffee, vinious, pine, milky chocolate and a hell of a lot of nuts. Some nougat. Super creamy mouthfeel with fine, low carbonation. Good flavour, but never as impressive as the aroma. Nuts, vinious notes, pretty sweet. Some chocolate creeps in again with dark, dried fruits. Fine, dry hoppiness. Hazel, walnuts, oak and roasted toffee. Very delicious, though it may be just a tad too sweet.
