The body is a somewhat hazy bonze hue.. yet the head is washed away to an ivory ring and film on top of the brew. The aroma and flavor offers up an awesome note of smoked malts… very toasty and placidly smoky… I really dug this same character in the Golden Ale they brew. There is sweetness in the beginning, smoked malts in the middle, then a well done crusty and spicy hopped finish. Hints of spruce and cedar chips. The body is a tad thin but overall I find this a terrific session beer! Fish Tale seems to surprise me with the oddest nuances in their beers....

Nice caramel and malt flavor mixed with well with some hop bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel. Worth having it shipped cross-country! Palidor19 (1785), Brandon, Florida, USA

Still, this beer show great deistniction of malts. Sweet with caramel taste, bery little hops but its still presence.
I enjoyed this one. piscator34 (1131), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 11, 2005 Medium amber in colour. Well balanced aromas of caramel malts and some green (grassy) hops. The flavors are well balanced like the aroma, but with some more compex notes of mint and mild munich malt. Nothing overly special, but a decent session beer. The best of the Fish Brewing beers that I’ve sampled. Zoob (84), Bakersfield, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 10, 2005 Aroma= Nice maltiness and yeast profile, low hop nose
Appearence=Bright amber copper color, nice head
Flavor= A nice balance here but tending to be more on the malt side as per style. Light carmel begining and finishing with some darker carmel notes as in roasted toffee.. these are not cloying but rather tasty
Mouth feel= Beer seems to be med-light bodied although it is heavily carbonated
Overall= I was really happy with the flavor of this Amber and the use of Hallertauer hops. A good drink bb (2930), Martinez, California, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 15, 2005 Updated: Aug 26, 2007My wife brought this one home for me from a trip out west. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a ruby chestnut color with a large foamy tan head that lingers and produces decent lacing. The aroma is sour and vegetal. The flavor is first noticeable for sharp piney and perfumy hops followed by vegetal malts and sour nut. The vegetal maltiness lingers on the finish. I guess this is a fairly well made beer but it is a style that really does not suit me. Maxamillion (103), Glendora, California, USA
