A complex beer; distinct flavors of caramel malt and bitter hops both present equally in the mouth. A nice looking beer -- red/amber with generous foam. Aroma is of caramel and hops, consistent with the flavor.
Some Amber Ales are more biscuity or more influenced by malt; this one almost leans towards the hops end of the spectrum. For American Pale Ale/IPA lovers, this is an Amber you’ll enjoy. For me, it was a little too bitter. LilKem (1210), Marietta, Ohio, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jun 8, 2007 Bottle. Aroma of medium roasted malt, backed by some hop. Coppery amber color with a beige head that froths and laces mildly. Medium bodied. Starts with a fruit sweetness, followed by that lightly roasted malt, back to fruitiness. Well balanced bitter, at least at the end. Ends relatively dry. badgerben (3603), Blaine, Minnesota, USA

A deep amber color with a nice head. This was a very nice and goo beer o drink. A tad high with the hops but this is the NW. A good malt use and the hops where fresh and fruity with flavor. This was a good easy drinking amber ale. tytoanderso (1387), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 9, 2007 12 oz bottle. Smells like a barn after a rainshower. Odd, yet interesting. Quite lively and crisp on the palate. Quite vegetal. Tastes like a salad with some hops thrown in for good measure. Finishes metallic ans short. What an odd beer. fishingnet (1045), Brandon, Florida, USA
