| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 27, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Hoppy, "clean" (i.e., soapy, yeasty, refreshing) aroma. The smell is not paricularly strong, but it is good. A touch of pine and citrus, but not as obviously Pacific-Northwest-hoppy as the aromas of most West Coast IPAs. Pours a pure, clear gold with a small to moderate amount of thin, off-white/cream-colored head. Looks like a darker version of a pale lager. Produces long-lasting, extensive, stable lacing. Bitter hops dominate the flavor. Tastes like an East Coast IPA rather than the West Coast style that the state of origin (Washington) would tend to imply. Apricot and even strawberry notes. This is not the most flavorful IPA I’ve ever had by any means, but it is quite good nonetheless. Long, nice, bitter aftertaste. Medium body. Slick in the palate. Refreshing, satisfying, and easy to drink. As far as I know, this is my first organic beer, and it stands as a pleasant surprise. The appearance is rather pedestrian, aside from the impressive lacing, but, apart from that, this is a strong beer across the board. Lately I have been a tough rater, so a 3.6 total score stands as a strong compliment from me. In addition, I usually don’t comment on these things, but for some reason I really dig Fish Tale Organic India Pale Ale’s label and cap. decaturstevo (1997), decatur, Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 25, 2007 A clean light orange pour with very little head and not much lacing. An aroma of citrusy hops and some malt. A flavor that is a bit on the dry side not much sweet not much malt. It goes to a decent hop bitter that is a little on the light side as well. Good hops bitter but nothing over the top. A little thin and fizzy on the palate but a very drinkable beer. alexanderj (2269), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 21, 2007 Bottle; poured a murky orange with a very small white head. Aroma of toasted caramel malt, some bread and some grapefruit/citrus (but not all that much) Was too grassy and dry on the finish for my taste; some good caramel/toasted malt and citrus flavors however. Below average for the style. tennisjoel (950), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 16, 2007 Bottle rating. Pours orange golden with a thin white head. Heavy perfumy scents, with some grapefruit, tangerine, and pine as well. Taste is bready, dry hops. A little rough on the palate. Nothing outstanding, but this is okay. Definitely a dry earthy finish. Not my favorite style of hops, but not terrible by any means. bu11zeye (5579), Frisco, Texas, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 29, 2007 12 oz bottle. Poured a clear orange color. Head was white with good retention and lacing. Aroma was of husky grain and light sprucy hops. Not as aromatic as I had hoped. Slightly sweet on the tongue with mild to moderate hop bitterness. Grassy, citrusy, sprucy hop dominated flavor with a light caramel note at the end. Angeloregon (2025), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 26, 2007 Tres bien! Deep amber color with a bouncy head. Rich, caramel malt and hop complexity that just rocked! Finished smooth...perhaps the quintessential organic IPA
