Aroma was nice and floral with that piney centennial bite and some sweet carmel malt. Taste has a nice smooth bitterness with a great balance between hops and malt. Has a good hop flavor with some noticeable alcohol. Overall a great balanced IPA with some good hop notes. blueduk (118), Eugene, Oregon, USA

The nose is pure hop out of the bottle. Strongly of pine and herbs. The "dank"est hop aroma I’ve come across in a while. You can claim you get malts in the nose, but I won’t believe you. A hint of citric acidity.
The flavor is still full of mangled, confused hops right through the end. The beer is medium to full bodied, but it approaches watery on the palate, too. Major downer. Finishes with, what else, a crips hop zing.
Some strange ingredients go into this one (pacific gem hops?) and it’s flavorful. I’d be happy to drink this if it were given to me, but I think it’s lacking clarity of purpose. skoisirius (584), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 26, 2006 12 oz bottle. Heavy amberish color with a small white head. Somewhat of an Earthy aroma containing fruits with sweet and bitter hops. There is definitely some maltiness coming through to the nose as well. Not being a huge IPA drinker, I was very happy with this one actually. The start has a sweeter hop zest to it with a malt backing that slowly but surely moves into a mildly bitter hopped finish, which then lingers on the palate for a bit. Refreshingly smooth in the hot weather, Fish Tale continues to prove their worthiness! DougShoemaker (2856), Toronto, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 14, 2006 Zesty orange and some pine hops too, deep amber, pours a small custard head. Flavour is a muted hops, fair amount of malt, light ginger ale taste also. Light bodied, nice balance, strong citrus finish. Decent. Thanks R! Lubiere (4548), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 13, 2006 Hazy golden ale with a thick onctuous white head. Pleasant lightly peppery floral hops, lightly sweet. In mouth, a good rye whiskey malt base with rather herbal hopping, with an initial agressiveness, receeding quickly into minreal water. Overall, lacks a bit of body, would probably be need some more malt, but overall, enjoyable. Bottle from MLCC, from a trade with Piscator. Thanks Kris for this nice series of Fish Tale.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 7, 2006 Bottle. Amber gold with smallish white crown. Sweet, full malty-hop aroma, with sweet malt being the dominant. Medium bodied, bitter but its bitterness felt shallow, where did the malt go so prominent in the aroma? | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 3, 2006 Now sometimes I can be a sucker for all things "organic", I’ll admit that. Even the PacificWestern OrganicLand offerings did taste ’cleaner’ in my mind though still bland and uninspired. So I was pumped to try this beer as my first Fish offering.
Bottle: Pours a hazy orange-gold with a medium creamy white head.
Aroma was bitter hop backed by orange zest fruitiness, warming to a more biscuity maltiness.
Flavour was initially fruity moving into a savoury piney mouthful of hop that again seemed to transition into a semi-dry bitter finish.
I thought the hop in this IPA was done very well. Not overpowering but assertive and seeming to change while passing through the mouth.
Very good all round IPA I thought.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 26, 2006 Light orange (not as orange as their pale ale), slightly hazy. Vigourous hop aroma of resin and grapefruit. Fruity and hoppy with a sweet malt background, but not nearly as well rounded as their pale ale in my opinion. Still nice though.
