Commercial Description:
Fish Tale IPA is a medium bodied ale with a bright golden color and robust strength. While Pale, Carastan, and Munich malts lend a gentle sweetness and balance to the background palate, this ale is dedicated to complex hop flavor.

12oz. bottle. Standard orange-yellow color with a small white head. Grassy hops, plastic phenolic notes. Some metallic citric resin hop flavors, with some strange soft grassy plastic hop characters as well. Mild, slightly sweet malt underpinning, emerge more in the finish to combine with a strange amalgam of chemical tastes. Mouthfeel is medium, somewhat dry. I am concerned my bottle was flawed, as this tasted more chemically than "non-organic" IPAs I have had. Rerate will ensue should the rest of my samples of this beer not possess the same flavors.

2008-05-15. Lightly hazy small off-white head. Modest hoppy aroma is lightly resiny and herbaceous. Hints of orange in the aroma as it warms. Flavour is less intensely happy than hoped for, light green leafy hops have a finish that is unpleasantly plant like - green leafy hops with an earthy character to it that i am not loving. Grows on me somewhat as it warms. Average plus palate. 7/3/6+/3+/13-14 - 3.3 Bottle from Mabel’s Seattle trip.
July 2006 Bottle. Slightly hazy orange, small white head. Light hoppy resin in the aroma. Light bitterness with grapefruit notes. Touch of caramel malt, and a slight tang/bite lingers in the hoppy finish. Lightly earthy at times. Average palate. Decent but still not the first one I would reach for. Thanks Larry Pitonka! 7/3/7/3/14 - 3.4
February 2006 Bottle. Hazy golden yellow with a small white head. Barnyard aroma borders on manure! WTF? Green hops hide beneath. Rough bitterness, light resiny citrus. Not very approachable, its unclear if this is off or just a bizarre new flavour. Average palate. A little strange. 4/3/5/3/11 - 2.6

12oz. Bottle, Aroma had some citrus to it and a soapy aroma also. Orange color body with average head. Being organic and ingreedients say water and that took from the flavor. Was like drinking grapefruit juice and adding some alcohol. Real dry tart palate that isn’t the best. OK but body could use more texture to it.

Not much head...Strong hoppy smell, very inviting. Clear copper/gold color....The level of hops is heavy, but not surprising. The malt seems to over-balance the hops a bit for my taste as it finishes. Overall, interresting but not one of my fav. IPA’s. (7.3.5.3.12 - 3 overall) Rerated on tap at brewpub. Better than I remembered. Golden color with big C hop aroma. Very smooth with solid hops. Very balanced.

Large frothy white head. Thick clump lacing remains. Excellent carbonation. Big hops aroma with plenty of fruit, melon and flowers. Light golden orange in color. Big bitterness in the flavor and very crisp. Dry and grainy with more fruit. Little bit of citrus. Noticable alcohol for a 5% brew. Thin malt presence. Sharp bitterness if you dredge up some of the stuff off of the bottom. Finish is bready and chalky with a sharp bitter aftertaste. Decent but not great.

Pours a cloudy golden color with a thin white head. Decent aroma of citrusy hops. Flavor of citrusy hops with tart fruits, the tartness is not welcomed in an IPA. The body is light with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Average.

Nose is sharp with hops, thin head with good lacing, yeast, hops, and very earthy presence with peat moss and alcohol. Nice looking beer really. I dont really get the earthy stuff tho. Thanks for sharing Edward!

Nothing really stands out. Slightly cloudy, slightly hoppy, slightly malty. It is tasty but as I have been told by some experts "organic" is nothing more than a marketing tool. Meaning an underpaid Hispanic worker walked by a plant, killed one bug, then walked off so they could resume pesticide spraying. Organic by definition. Whatever.
