Commercial Description:
Fish Tale IPA is a medium bodied ale with a bright golden color and robust strength. While Pale, Carastan, and Munich malts lend a gentle sweetness and balance to the background palate, this ale is dedicated to complex hop flavor.

Poured from Bottle into Pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy warm amber color with a small slightly off-white head that quickly dissolves into a thin layer around the glass. The aroma has lots of malt in it with some fruitiness. Not a whole lot of hops present on the nose of this beer. The flavor has a strong malt backbone filled with toasted and caramel malts and some tangy, fruity hops to round it out. Its a light to medium bodied beer that has a good amount of carbonation. This is alright, I just wish the nose of this beer had more hops. But this is a balanced IPA not a hop bomb.

12oz bottle. Like a honey amber color with a medium off-white head. The aroma is mostly malty with a good dose of caramel and fruity yeast. There are some hops, but they play second fiddle. The flavor is toast, toffee, and caramel, with fruity yeast and balancing hops. Medium-light bodied with medium carbonation. Not really what I think of when I think IPA, but I still like it. tastes more like a hoppy esb than anything, but a pretty good one at that.

"Pours a deep honey brown that’s slightly cloudy, nice tan colored head floating on top. The sweet smell of caramel hits the nose and then the massive smell of the hops punches you in the face, there’s also a detergent smell in the background it kind of messages you. The beer felt smooth and thick in the mouth with moderate carbonation. WOW!!! Tons of hops it’s the first thing you notice; this is a very hoppy beer. Gets sweeter and creamier at the back of my throat. The beer quit refreshing but I don’t think I could drink more then a couple in a evening due to the intense hops."

Excellent beer. Slightly cloudy and an impressive orangy/amber. Decent white head and some spotty lacing. Savory smells of fresh, fruity, lemony(it’s there) hops and a nice sweet spice that lingers at the end. Good deep flavour that includes tangy bitter hops - I first thought the flavour to be cherry, but that changed to an almost overwhelming deeply bitterness and a touch of apple (?). Heavy fruity hoppy aftertaste with a flavourless sour finish that is more apperant near the bottom of the glass.

Bottle@PortlandAirport. Fruity and grassy aroma. Hazy, amber colour, off-white head, fair lace. Sweet, bitter, fruity, grassy. Medium body. Refreshing, well balanced, not exceptional.

Pours a hazy orange with thick white head and decent lacing. Aroma of balanced hops, maybe a slight citrus lean, and not overly balanced with malt. Flavor matches, quite nice. Happy to get this as an extra.

12oz bottle courtesy of 5000 poured into a pint glass. Pours a clear amber with a small off-white head that hangs on as a healthy cap and leaves decent lacing. The aroma is fruity with some citrus hops, especially oranges and hints of grapefruit. There is some malt in the nose as well, but everything is very sweet overall. The taste has the same orange hops up front with some sweetish malts forming the backbone. The finish has a slight hop bitterness, a tart citric bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with decent carbonation and not too bitter or sticky. This is a decent IPA but nothing stands out in any way. There are some hops and malts but it’s a bit too sweet with a little less hop presence than I would expect in an IPA.
