Commercial Description:
Named for the majestic creatures which embody the proud spirit of the Republic of Cascadia, Wild Salmon Pale Ale is a light bodied and beautifully balanced Northwest-style pale ale. Its gentle sweetness, drawn from Pale, Carastan, Vienna, Cara-pils, and Honey malts is nicely matched by Chinook hops and late additions of Cascade and Willamette hops. Northwest Pale Ale enthusiasts will love this beer as much as they love the beautiful region which has inspired it. In firm commitment to our love of the Great Northwest, the people at Fish Tale Ales are donating a portion of the proceeds from sales of each case and each keg of Wild Salmon Pale Ale to the Save Our Wild Salmon Coalition, helping to rebuild healthy runs of wild Pacific salmon and steelhead. On draught or by the bottle, this treat from Fish Tale Ales is remarkably bright with a brilliant golden color and thick creamy head. Wild Salmon Pale Ale is sparkling and crisp with a fresh hop aroma and refreshing finish.

Balanced aroma of malt and hop. Sort of a copper color with a white head that quickly turned to film. Medium bodied. Bit of a carbonatiion bite. Starts with malt, there’s balancing bitter, and it finishes that way. Decent, but no special notes or flavors, except possibly a slight fruit towards the end. There seems to be a bit of citrus/sour left in the mouth.

12 oz. Bottle from Blue Max in Burnsville, MN. Pour is amber, though farily light. Aroma is malt, and a bit of fruitiness. The taste is bigger malt than I was expecting, and the sweetness came through again. Overall, more complexity than most APA’s and a nice session beer.

this has a really dull flavor. some copper pennies and some astringency with a little juicy fruit gum flavor. a hint of lemon but nothing too impressive.

12 ounce bottle. Shaker glass. Golden with a thin head. Aroma was of hops and grain. Taste was hoppy with notes of citrus and lemon. Bitter finish. This one just doesn’t do it for me.

Bottle says 5.5% abv, but then again, what do I know? Pours a light amber color. Aroma is of fragrant moist towelettes, light hops, some malt and dirt? Okay, the aroma is off-putting. Let’s see what it tastes like. Lightly citrus flavor with mostly lemon-lime coming through, mild malt backbone. Geez, this is a wimpy APA. Carbonation is just about right but that’s about it. Organic it may be, but tasty it is not.

12 oz bottle. Nose is disarmingly similar to the organic amber. Smells vegetal and barnyard-like. This one has a little more citrus zing behind it though. Again thin on the palate. Mildly hoppy flavor balanced by a slight malty/citrus backbone. Finishes more malty than hoppy.
