Commercial Description:
Named for the majestic creatures which embody the proud spirit of the Republic of Cascadia, Wild Salmon Pale Ale is a light bodied and beautifully balanced Northwest-style pale ale. Its gentle sweetness, drawn from Pale, Carastan, Vienna, Cara-pils, and Honey malts is nicely matched by Chinook hops and late additions of Cascade and Willamette hops. Northwest Pale Ale enthusiasts will love this beer as much as they love the beautiful region which has inspired it. In firm commitment to our love of the Great Northwest, the people at Fish Tale Ales are donating a portion of the proceeds from sales of each case and each keg of Wild Salmon Pale Ale to the Save Our Wild Salmon Coalition, helping to rebuild healthy runs of wild Pacific salmon and steelhead. On draught or by the bottle, this treat from Fish Tale Ales is remarkably bright with a brilliant golden color and thick creamy head. Wild Salmon Pale Ale is sparkling and crisp with a fresh hop aroma and refreshing finish.

12 oz bottle. Nose is disarmingly similar to the organic amber. Smells vegetal and barnyard-like. This one has a little more citrus zing behind it though. Again thin on the palate. Mildly hoppy flavor balanced by a slight malty/citrus backbone. Finishes more malty than hoppy.

Mild hop nose. Toasted malt body. Broad hop bitter with a gritty mouth feel. Decent pale ale. Heavier and bold. More malt tastes than hops.

(Bottle) Organic beer blind tasting at Brouwers’s in Seattle, March 3, 2007. Thin white head with an orange body. Nose of nail polish, perfume, mushrooms and amber malt. Flavour is club soda and lemon water. Awful.

Pours a beautiful reddish amber color with an off-white, average head. Flavor is lightly fruity malt body, with some mild hopping. Not bad.

Bottle. Pale pour shows a pretty nice color. Smell is not as hoppy as some of the other pales I’m having tonight. Despite being ultimately Bud-like in appearance, it’s a decent, sessionable pale ale. Not in the extreme hophead range by any means.

OK pours a nice dark amber, darker than most APAs, small bubbly white head. Oh man... I think I got a bad one. The aroma is like boiled peanuts with a load of malt extract thrown in. Taste is nothing..just faint malt and honey. No hops. Mouthfeel is thin, watery Not a good beer..I HOPE this was off but according to the label this was only brewed 2 months ago. This is terrible for an APA and barelly acceptable for an English Pale. I will try another someday..maybe this particular bottle was bad!
