Commercial Description:
Named for the majestic creatures which embody the proud spirit of the Republic of Cascadia, Wild Salmon Pale Ale is a light bodied and beautifully balanced Northwest-style pale ale. Its gentle sweetness, drawn from Pale, Carastan, Vienna, Cara-pils, and Honey malts is nicely matched by Chinook hops and late additions of Cascade and Willamette hops. Northwest Pale Ale enthusiasts will love this beer as much as they love the beautiful region which has inspired it. In firm commitment to our love of the Great Northwest, the people at Fish Tale Ales are donating a portion of the proceeds from sales of each case and each keg of Wild Salmon Pale Ale to the Save Our Wild Salmon Coalition, helping to rebuild healthy runs of wild Pacific salmon and steelhead. On draught or by the bottle, this treat from Fish Tale Ales is remarkably bright with a brilliant golden color and thick creamy head. Wild Salmon Pale Ale is sparkling and crisp with a fresh hop aroma and refreshing finish.

Bottle thanks to ilovedarkbeer. Pours with a small, white head and a clear bronze body. Aroma of hops, dirt, caramel, peanut shells and light berries. Taste is watery with light hops, urine and dirt. Fizzy carbonation and watery mouthfeel.

Draught @ the brewpub. Pours a clear amber color with a small off-white head. Has a sweet malty caramel aroma with some hints of hops. Sweetish malty caramel flavor with some hoppy hints. Has a swetish malty hoppy finish.

Bronze with a resilient, if slim, frosted head and steady upward rise of bubbles. Mild Cascade with mustiness in the nose more reminiscent of English Pale Ales. Medium body with mild hop flavor and decent malt backdrop. Clean tasting, easy drinking pale. Lacks a ton of flavor, but should make for a good gateway pale ale to those uninitiated macro-brew drinkers.

Pours an amber, translucent color with a decent head. Aroma of citrus and white pepper. Flavor is a nice initial hop burst at the back of the tongue that levels off to a nice, smooth finish. This is a really great beer for a hot summer day, like today.

Bottle. Golden yellow, large bubbles. Citrus hops nose, peppery flavor and a clean finish. A bit of malt balances the bitterness making for a simple, but pleasant APA with a nice hop bite at the end.

[1322-20080426] 355mL bottle. Burnt wooden slats aroma with charred hop flakes and earthy malt. Clear, amber brown body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head. More wooden earthy malt flavour has slightly toasted hops throughout. Medium body is smooth. Interesting and drinkable, but mostly one-dimensional.
