Commercial Description:
Named for the majestic creatures which embody the proud spirit of the Republic of Cascadia, Wild Salmon Pale Ale is a light bodied and beautifully balanced Northwest-style pale ale. Its gentle sweetness, drawn from Pale, Carastan, Vienna, Cara-pils, and Honey malts is nicely matched by Chinook hops and late additions of Cascade and Willamette hops. Northwest Pale Ale enthusiasts will love this beer as much as they love the beautiful region which has inspired it. In firm commitment to our love of the Great Northwest, the people at Fish Tale Ales are donating a portion of the proceeds from sales of each case and each keg of Wild Salmon Pale Ale to the Save Our Wild Salmon Coalition, helping to rebuild healthy runs of wild Pacific salmon and steelhead. On draught or by the bottle, this treat from Fish Tale Ales is remarkably bright with a brilliant golden color and thick creamy head. Wild Salmon Pale Ale is sparkling and crisp with a fresh hop aroma and refreshing finish.

Bottle, thanks to bitbucket. Copper pour with almost no head. Aroma is slightly biscuity malt and light earthy hops. Flavor is the same with some sweeter malt also, lightly grainy finish with light earthy / floral bitterness. Nice balance and subtle flavors.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange/amber color with a medium light beige head. The aroma is a bit hoppy with citrus and some pine. Flavor has citrus and hops up front, but a maltiness reaches out to you, so the finish is fairly smooth. There is also an essence of piney earthiness in the taste. A decent beer that probably won’t scare away the hops-impaired. I’d like to pair this brew with some good brats cooked over the grill in beer, along with some nice stone ground mustard on a hoagy roll. Oh yeah, and to make my doctor happy, a mixed green salad.

In my Idaho beer tasting trek, I found this in a grocery store in McCall, Idaho for $8.48 a six pack. Beer prices seem to have gone up in this area. From a 12 oz bottle this poured a cloudy light orange with fat white head the settled quickly and left decent lacing. Nose of caramel malts and citrus hops. Nice clean and smooth mouthfeel. Flavor is of hops and is complex and includes citrus, flowers, and pine. Nice bitter and dry finish. Very easy to driink.

So memorable a label, so forgettable a beer. Orange color. Orange and floral hops. Some malts, not too hoppy, rather average little beer. Can’t detect any influence from the organic. Bottle.

Bottled. A hazy orangey beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet hoppy with light notes of dust. The flavor has notes of dust, malt, and hops, as well as lighter notes of fruit. Somewhat boring. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Bottle poured a clear light amber with a small diminishing ivory head. Aromas of carmel, earthiness and a hint of pine. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, earthiness, light pine and a hint of fruittiness with a smooth lingering earthy finish.
