| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 17, 2008 The latte colored head on this beer just never goes away. It’s kind of like that guest that occupies your spare bedroom, eats all of your food and drinks all of your beer. Milk chocolate, dark bitter chocolate, and roasted coffee both in the aroma and flavor. Thick and dark but not viscous. Good beer. Crosling (1855), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Jun 16, 2008 A black beer with brown edges and a long lasting very light tan foam. Nose doesn’t offer up much at all, only a light hint of roast, dark fruit and alcohol. Flavor is well balanced, but doesn’t have a lot of depth. Light chocolate hints, some cocoa and dark fruit flavors. Fairly good stout, but not a lot of describable character and a poorly textured body as well. I like it pretty well, but its very below average for the style. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA

While this side of the Poseidon doesn’t do it for me like the original BA series does, I do have to say that Batch #5 with about 3.5 years on it is absolutely astounding. Almost milky smooth, the light cocoa notes mix well with the dark roasty malts and fairly forward coffee flavors hidden in the back. This one is tasting damn good right now, so if you happen to have one, I’d recommend opening it! ucusty (1908), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA
