Commercial Description:
Full bodied, complex, and top hat-black, Trout Stout boasts a distinctly dry roasted flavor to please the serious stout lover. Fish Brewing creates its Trout Stout using five different varieties of malt for a very complex, smooth character. The Mighty Fish Brewers begin with Carastan, Crystal, Black and Munich malts. Then, an additional portion of roasted unmalted barley enters the blend to achieve a roasted-coffee flavor. The hop profile of Trout Stout is dominated by Chinook hop bitterness. Cascade hops contributed the hop flavor and aroma, but in a subdued manner so as not to overwhelm the stout’s delicious malt profile. Available October - March

Opaque black. Thick and creamy head with some lace. Jordan mentioned some crazy thing about a sparkler.... The aromas are a smooth blend of chocolate and roasted malts. There is some mocha about and just a hint of tabacco. Hops dance about the malts rather nicely. Bakers chocolate in the flavors along with bitter roast and hops. Some coffee and the tobacco comes around for another appearence. Dry palate with a thick and creamy body. Finishes with strong roasts and bitter hops. Quality brew!

Tan creamy head, black color. Nose of fruity roast, heavy coffee & dark chocolate. Taste is full of roast & sweet smoke. A bit of bitterness is kicked up but it’s a very smooth drinking beer. Nice lacing around the glass. Finishes roasty, sweet, balanced, good! Creamy, nice level of roast really breathes through your nose. Underlying lactose like fruit sweetness in the distant tail.

Black Color, large creamy head. Roasted malts, coffee-like flavor. Mild taste, slightly dry. Mouthfeel is a little thin for a stout, but its crisp character makes up for it. Complex and smooth. Finish is crisp and dry. Aftertaste is dry, slightly bitter.
