Commercial Description:
This is the Cascadian ale brewed for the season of celebrations. Very pale and full bodied with a rich flavor imparted by Pale and Honey malt and assertively friendly hop character. The hop profile is quite distinct, featuring 100% Yakima Chinook hops in the kettle for bittering, flavor and aroma. In fact, this is the hoppiest beer yet from the Mighty Fish Brewers, and perhaps the hoppiest Winter seasonal you’ll have the pleasure to taste this year.

One of my favorites at the WA Cask Festival. Big hops abound. Nice and thick palate. Warm, bitter finish.

12 oz bottle into an Shaker glass. Pours a very clear and non-bubbly copper color with a tiny hint of light brown. The head is white and quite frothy. Well done lacing. The aroma on this one is fairly malty for an IPA. Very sweet, and really not hoppy at all. You can just barely pick up some toffee and/or caramel. The flavor first kicks in with that sweet malt from the nose, then gently slides into a mild bitter hop note backed by the somewhat grapefruity and peachy malt. It ends with somewhat of a tiny bitter note sticking to the tongue. Very smooth, medium bodied. Not quite sure what I think about this one. It’s not very interesting, and it really doesn’t fit the profile of a Winter brew at all...kind of weird!

Draft... GABF ’06... Clear yellow ale with a small, frothy, white head. Tastes and smells more like a Summer IPA than a Winter Warmer. Reminiscent of Alesmith’s Yulesmith Summer release. Pungent and perfume notes in the aroma with a warm, melted gob of caramel. Loads of PNW hops in the flavor; decent balance though. Almost full-bodied and creamy with moderate carbonation. Balanced, dry finish.

carmel colored pour small tan head w/ nice lacing. Well hopped grass aroma odd sweet carmel backbone. Lightly oily palate lightly creamy. Nicely hopped grass & grapefruits w/ a sweet balance, pretty darn good IPA.

On Tap at Fishbowl Brewpub Olympia WA, pours out a hazy orange topped with a off white head. A nice mix of hops, spice, and smoke.

Fruity sweet nose hint of apricot, amber color, sticky tight head. Smokey malt with a metallic feel to it. Didn’t quite get what they were going for with this one.

12oz bottle poured a hazy orange color with a small off white head and good lacing. Aroma was caramel and smoked malts. Taste was heavily smoked with some bitterness and alcohol noticeable. Overall not that impressed with the smoky flavor.

Alcohol was very noticeable, then it settled into hop spice, roasted malt and a smokey finish. Very different IPA but I liked it.
