Commercial Description:
This is the Cascadian ale brewed for the season of celebrations. Very pale and full bodied with a rich flavor imparted by Pale and Honey malt and assertively friendly hop character. The hop profile is quite distinct, featuring 100% Yakima Chinook hops in the kettle for bittering, flavor and aroma. In fact, this is the hoppiest beer yet from the Mighty Fish Brewers, and perhaps the hoppiest Winter seasonal you’ll have the pleasure to taste this year.

Bottle. IPA? What? Decently hoppy, yes, but this is quite spicy and very much in the winter ale mold. I get big cinnamon and cardamom in the nose, backed by light, sweaty hops. Good lacing in a lightly filtered pour. Spices are much stronger in the flavor, with ample vanilla, nutmeg, almond butter. Lightly sweet and decently drinkable.

Pours gold-copper. Good nose of aromatic hops. Slightly cloudy. Nice head that turns to thin lacing. A little too much carbonation (small bubbles, but a bit too many). Nice sweet honey taste along with bitter hops. It good, but it’s not like a traditional winter beer one might be familiar with.

12oz bottle-pours a light tan head and amber color. Aroma is sweet caramel medium malt, some fruit, hint of hops, which get to secondary after it settles. Taste is sweet medium malt, nice secondary pine hops bitterness. Medium body beer. A hoppy solid beer just short of a strong ale. OK carbonation. Nice, easy drinking.

This is a really earthy and spicy IPA. Pours a regular copper with a creamy white head. really nice creamy mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Huge contrast to lagunitas IPA in that way. Nicely hopped, not overdone but definitely lets you know it’s an IPA. the alcohol is terribly well hidden, and I drank the sole 12oz bottle of it before I knew it. makes me wanna try their other beers they brew. Not much of a winter beer in my opinion other than the high abv. Luckily it’s a good one! I should get a sixer before they’re all gone.

On tap at Bailey’s--Poured a clear copper with a small off-white head. Nose of spicy malts and hops. Fruity and floral. Creamy vanilla and slightly dry and bitter finish. Great balance of malts and hops. Light body and hop profile plays more like an IPA than a winter warmer. Quite delectable.

clear amber, wispy white head, streaks of lace, sweet caramel malt aroma with spicy hops and a touch of pine, sweet malt flavor, nice caramel balanced with spicy hops, lots of spicy character but from hops instead of spices, lingering sweetness with a nice low bitterness,

Sampled at the Great Canadian Beer Festival. Pale with an assertive hop character. Relatively full bodied with a rich malty flavor too. Very nice.
