Commercial Description:
This is the Cascadian ale brewed for the season of celebrations. Very pale and full bodied with a rich flavor imparted by Pale and Honey malt and assertively friendly hop character. The hop profile is quite distinct, featuring 100% Yakima Chinook hops in the kettle for bittering, flavor and aroma. In fact, this is the hoppiest beer yet from the Mighty Fish Brewers, and perhaps the hoppiest Winter seasonal you’ll have the pleasure to taste this year.

12 oz bottle. Pours a beautiful clear orange coppery color with a medium white head. Aroma is of apricots, orange citrus, honey and malts. Taste is of candied apricots, orange peels and honey malt hops. Very good and quite unique for an IPA.

I had this one right after the Brooklyn IPA and prefer this one emmensely. The immediate difference that is unmistakable is the malt backbone as well as the delicious passionfruit character this has in addition to the usual IPA bitterness. Excellent!

12 ounce bottle. A nice looking deep yellow, soft orange pour with a thin white head and fair lacing. The aroma is yeasty and fruity. I am unsure if the citrus coming through is grapefruit or orange. The flavor begins nice and bitter, and continues that way for some time. Citrus drives the flavor, although, here as well, I cannot quite place whether it is grapefruit or orange or somewhere between the two. Honey, lightly toasted grain, and a dash of spiciness also make appearances. This is slightly less bitter than what I think of when I hear India Pale Ale, but a good drink nonetheless. This is a nice variation on what I think of as the traditional winter seasonal offering. The wife’s homemade sloppy joes were a good match for this ale. The sloppy joes were served in a shallow bowl, with the meat sauce covering open-faced buns. They were rather spicy, which really helped pull some of the quieter, subtler flavors into the foreground of the ale.

A lot of hop flavor - some citrus and other earth flavors. Full bodied and pretty bitter.

Bottle via trade with kenb, cheer ken. Pours a amber-copper color with a thin off white head, nice lacing. Aroma is grapefruit, orange, floral hops. Flavor is more of the same, sweet, with a little malt backbone going on, hint of alcohol. Palate is medium, medium carboantion, spicy bitter finish. I like it.

An interesting winter’s IPA. Honey hops balanced with a bit of orange riding beneath and warm and inviting alcohol blanket, this is one of the best IPAs I’ve had, though I must admit I’m not a fan of the type. Very drinkable, if a tad sweet overall.

12 oz bottle from a trade withLarry Pitonka. Thanks Andre. Pours a lighter than expected color- very light copper- orangey with light carbonationa nd a thin lasting whie head- some lace. Aroma is piney and sticky grapefruit- resinous with a slight wierd shoppy-smokey hint but not very intense. Nice light malt profile, citrusy hops, light smokey harshness in the flavor- prickly harsh nice bitterness in the end from high co-humulone which I love. Nic esmooth finish due to the light carbonation. Good IPA.

Bottle courtesy of the generousity of Kenb, thanks man. Pours a 1/4 inch thick head with a clear orange body. Aroma had a sweet citrus scent. Taste is hoppy and smooth. Slight alcohol taste and a citrus hop aftertaste. Went down easy, good IPA.
