I usually don’t like tripels very much but this is a almost perfect brew. The aroma is sweet and yeasty, the taste is the same but also fruity. What a great way to celebrate my 100th rating. (Bottle 33cl, corked bottle 75cl) I’ve rated the 8.5 alcohol % version. Jerre (1768), Waregem, Belgium

Re-rate: other label, 8,5%. Probably another recipe, too. Big frothy head. Hoppy aroma with a hint of pepper and cinnamon. Strong hopbitter flavor with cinnamon, pepper and pear. Peppery, bitter finish. Big, lively and complex. Variety (27), Belgium
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 8, 2005 Definitely one of the best abbey-style tripels. Great on flavour, great to look and with a pretty clear, fresh taste that leaves plenty of room for the spicy/hoppy touches. This is close to becoming our house beer. schuimkroaat (395), Leuven, Belgium
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 8, 2006 33 cl bottle, ’bbe’ Feb 07. Amber coloured with a fine, velvety vail of haze, good fizz and a dense, rocky head leaving thick and rich lace. Yeasty aroma with fruit (melon, apricot) and caramel. Smooth malty taste with a spicy background expresses some Irish cream liqueur and quite pronounced alcohol. Good body with a volatile, warming alcoholic finish. Somewhat out of balance - certainly when talking about the alcohol. DruncanVeasey (2768), The Penguin’s Arms, Europe, Warwickshire, England
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 25, 2009 Bright marmalade pour with white lather and lace specks. Mellow candy sugar aroma with banana and custard, orange winegums, strawberry and cream Campinos,a puff of spice, gathering pine and TCP. Narcotic, soft and silky with banana confectionary (shrimps), peachy esters, discreet coriander, balancing marmalade bitterness. Alcohol doesn’t come into it. Sweet and estery with savoury hop balance. Octo missed out on this one. spkevin (75), Doetinchem, Netherlands

Great, full aroma with big, white head. Couldn’t stop sniffing it. Taste was very sweet with notes of spice. Love to try this one again! Bov (5514), Bienne, Switzerland
