Skyview (2768), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Oct 14, 2007 Sampled on draught at the Fitger’s Brewhouse in Duluth, MN. Pours a semi-clear reddish dark amber brew with a thick off-white head that slowly dissolves to a fine film and ring. Aroma of sweet caramel and wheat malt, candi sugar, and a touch of yeast. Taste is thick and overly-sweet, full bodied with very light carbonatation. Flavors includehighly sweetened multi-grain malt, a touch of yeast and some powdery herbs. Finish is just as sweet at the flavor with no bitterness nor any yeast aftertaste. A little bit on the heavy sweet side for a dubbel. badgerben (3040), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Oct 7, 2007 Dark ruby color with a thick white head. Slightly sugary aroma. Very powerful sweet grain flavor. At first glance, it seems more like a strong pale lager than a Belgian dubbel. A little sugar finish paired with a bitter roasted grain. None of the usual fruity yeast aroma or flavor.
