RBSG07. From growler. Pours black with a creamy head. Aroma is butterish, coriander and bubblegum yeast. Flavour is wheaty with notes of yeast. Malty finish. Solid but nothing really great. I had this at the end of the evening, so I guess even though the cap was on the growler it had oxidised a bit.

(RBSG07, growler) Cola black body with beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, some sourness, wheat, light clove. Taste is medium sweet, wheat, light caramel, coriander. Watery light body. I assume this is a stab at a Tarwebier.

(Growler) Pours a dark brown body with a small beige head. Aroma of tobacco, toasted bread, orange peel, and coriander. Flavor of herbs, toasted malt, caramel, and cocoa with a dry finish.

Growler... RBSG 07... Pours dark with a mid-sized, frothy, tan head. This wit’s aroma is of the usual suspects (bread dough, orange peel, coriander, banana), but with a nice dose of cocoa thrown into the mix. Spicy, caramel flavor with moderate sweetness, mild bitterness and lots of coriander and cocoa. Light bodied and pretty thin with medium carbonation. Crisp, spicy, chocolate finish. Strange brew!

Thanks to JK and Badgerben for bringing this growler south from Duluth to the Twin Cities. Sampled at the RBSG ’07 Grand Tasting room, pours an opaque dark brown brew with a thick tan head. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, cloves, and a touch of vegetable margarine. Taste of roasted wheat malt, yeast, coriander, and some bubblegum. Palate is light bodied, carbonated with a slight metalic feel. Finish is dry malty, with some spice aftertaste.

Black color with a thick head. Strong orange aroma and taste. The flavor is backed up by plenty of wheat and a lot more sweet malt than normal for a Witbier. A bit of roastedness on the finish, which I suppose would be expected for a black wit. The coriander is there, but not screaming. Nice take on the style.

Was this White Knight or Black Knight? I think their chalkboard said "white." Anyway. A black beer. It looks like a stout. Well carbonated. The aromas has butter and mild spices including coriander. Flavor has unprocessed wheat and light roasted malt. Rough on the palate; it has a rustic feel to it. Strong clove finish.

I will echo JK--at the brewpub they had this labeled a "white night". Very interesting beer. Dark black, clinging head. Interesting flavors, suggesting of curry (that coriander, perhaps). It works interesting things with food pairings. Worth a try. (on tap at brewpub)
