islay (405), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Apr 6, 2008 3 oz. pour, on tap at the brewhouse. This was the last of 9 Fitger’s beers I tried on 4-4-08. Nice, toasted malt aroma that contains a chocolate scent. Pours a clear brown with near-white head. Flavor of unusual grains such as wild rice (but I may be have sensed that only because of the location in which I drank the beer -- wild rice country, for those who don’t know). Lightly roasted malt flavors. Red apple and red grape elements present in the taste. Bitter aftertaste. Medium body. Soft in the palate. Brewhouse Bock is a solid beer and one of my favorites of the night. RJBennett (52), Hibbing, Minnesota, USA Mar 24, 2007 toast, citrus, earthy, brown, red, hazy, aminimal head, tan foam, light sweetness, medium bitterness, medium sourness, medium body, sticky, soft carbonation, A little tart on the finish, but good overall
detroiter (957), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA Jan 22, 2007 Pours a clear ruby brown color, almost like cola, topped by a slight head of tannish head that reduces to a film in a minute or so. Sweetish nose - a little fruity a little bit of caramel.
Starts out on the sweet side, with light bittersweet chocolate, light caramel, and a light sugared fruit flavor. Dries a bit toward the finish, with more of an earthy flavor. Body just short of medium, light carbonation. Long slightly burnt caramel in the aftertaste with a hint of alcohol warmth. robertsreality (2462), Minnesota, USA Mar 14, 2005 Dark Translucent Red Coloring with White Ring. Little Aroma. Malt and Prune Notes Instantly Ensue. Little Cloying...Sweet and Dry. Cool and Clean Ending. Light Sparks of Alcohol and Bread Dough..Medium Mouthfeel and Quite Drinkable Bock Beer. CharlesDarwin (1407), State College, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 12, 2005 Deep auburn pour with light tan head. Reasonable lacing. Strong fruit and malt aroma. Rich, creamy caramel and malt flavors with a dry oak smack. Palate is intensely satisfying. Crisp light finish with nutty brown aftertaste.
