[Bottle] 31/35 shared by STLWill. Pours deep brown with a small tan head. Aroma is coconut, chocolate, coffee, vanilla, some bourbon, and alcohol. Thinner body, soft mouthfeel and carbonation, vanilla, rum, light tartness, a touch of roasted malts. Somewhat chalky. A really nice beer.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has notes of sweet malt and roasted malt as well as lighter notes of alcohol and wood. The flavor is sweet with notes of sweet malt, roasted malt, and soy sauce as well as light notes of alcohol, leading to a dry and roasted finish.

Blind tasting at Papsø’s
Black color, small head. Clearly a barrel aged beer, there is a very nice oak vanilla aroma, with roasted and chocolate malt. Good body structure, not too thick, with just the necessary sweetness; good mix of roasted malt, chocolate malt and finally caramel; the mouthfeel is a bit oily; in the final the liquorice appears along with the roasted malt, and there is some light vanilla shade. Good bitterness, but a bit too much alcohol at the end. Very good, even if a bit confused.

Aroma of roasted malt, dried fruit, vinous, wood like feel, alcohol, liquorish, chocolate, mild coffee. Full bodied with a soft carbonation and thick alcoholic texture. Heavy sweet flavor with some bitterness. Lingering alcoholic and roasted sweet malty finish. 8 / 4 / 8 / 4 / 17 = 4.1
