Commercial Description:
An American style Pale Ale generously hopped with the newer American hop varietal Ahtanum, for that big hop aroma and flavor typical of the style. Ahtanum can have citrus, resin, and fruity flavor notes. The brew is light in color with a medium body, and was fermented with Whitbread English Ale yeast which contributes some fruity esters to the overall flavor profile. Hop bitterness is around 45BU'S, and nicely balanced by the malts. This brew weighs in at 5.0% ABV.

Pours an amberish orange Clean. Refreshing. Bitter bite at first, then a clean finish. Good APA.

Tasted 3/24/2009. Growler from the Brewpub. Thanks to my brother for bringing this back. Relatively clear with a copper golden hue. Mildly lacing thick ring of white head. Bright aromas with abundant notes of orange and limes. Cherries and strawberries. It’s like opening a bag of Skittles. The palate is not quite have the depth of complexity. Solidly medium bodied and quite fresh. Big and super bright hop character. This is quite refreshing. Good complexity of the hop character, the malt aspect being a little lacking. Finishes super dry and slightly lingering bitterness. This is a great example of quality MO beer.

Sample at the brewpub. This brew is an orange-amber color with a medium pillowy off-white head that recedes slowly. Sheet of lacing on the glass. Nice citrus and hops aroma with a bit of malt. Medium body with flavors of citrusy hops, toasted malt and sweet fruit. The finish is hoppy with a lingering malt and fruit aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Pint at the brewpub. Pours an orange color with lots of citrusy hop aroma. Flavor is dominated by the hoppiness. Lots of pine and citrus. Very bitter finish, but I liked it.

A solid APA. More fruity flavor than most I’ve tried with a smooth finish.

A deeper red pale ale with citrus and floral aroma. Flavor is predominantly citrus, but includes slight floral notes and hint of malt. Pretty good.
