Commercial Description:
We affectionately call this one BIPA. This true English I.P.A. is made with premium malt, only Goldings hops, and a special British yeast culture. Fruity aromas mix with the floral hops to greet your nose as you raise a pint of this brew. The bitterness is huge, yet it is crisp, dry, and clean.

Again - I don’t get the haters. This is an English IPA, with a MW malt profile. Aroma is fruity. Some good florals going on. Bitter finish.

Sample at the brewpub as Eds Favorite. The brew is a clear light amber color with a thin and foamy off-white head that diminishes slowly. Thin sheet of lacing on the glass. Earthy malt, caramel and hops in the nose. Medium body with flavors of caramel malt, honey and hops. The finish is soft with a grassy hops and malt aftertaste. Above average overall.

(draught) bronze with small head. Floral hops aroma. Lots of floral hops in the flavor with some malt. Musty aftertaste. A bit hoppy for the style.

Tasted 9/7/08. Draft from the brewpub. Filtered with a golden hue. Ring of off-white head. Mixed nose with notes of earthy hops and slight malts. Medium bodied and earthy hop characters. Dry and tangy. Mildly acidic. slightly buttery. Decent.

This was nice for a change, very good and true to style. I would have chosen a bit of a different hop profile, but that’s just me. Citrusy lemon zest nose, buttery bready maltiness. Still very drinkable.

At the brewpub Poured a dark copper with an off white head. Hoppy aroma. Flavor was of citrus with some sweet malt in the background. Very balanced and easy to drink.

First! Hopefully, the Flat Branch folks can fill in the details here for commercial description, etc. Floral. Nice hops. Not exactly the hoppy beer I hoped for when I saw it on the menu tonight. Still, credit goes to Flat Branch for offering something new, as well as an IPA a bit hoppier than Katy Trail.
