Fonix7 (50), Toledo, Ohio, USA Jun 30, 2006 A spicy chili beer that smells great, feels smooth, hops first then spices last. Served in the pub with a dash of tomato juice (if requested) and good either way. I’d drink it often if I lived in Columbia, Missouri. My favorite Flat Branch beverage. Braudog (3463), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Nov 28, 2004 Brewpub visit 11/04 ... This was golden yellow with a cream white head. Full-on chili aroma. Subtle vegetable character in a creamy milky brew. Turned out to be oen of their better offerings. Almost as good as the Jalapeno Ale at my home town Jaipur. cb (810), Wheat Ridge, Colorado, USA Jan 15, 2005 Updated: Jan 16, 2005Pale ale base, initially quite flavorless, but spicy chili kicks in soon after and retracts, leaving a lingering enjoyable heat. Spicy, fresh Anaheim pepper aroma. Bright yellow soapy dense head. The much more pleasant sister to the souless Cave Creek. Drnk_McDermott (1545), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA Aug 7, 2007 Draft, 8/4/07. People know I likes me chile beers, so take this with whatever grain of salt you want:Hot, fresh chile smell, like Labor Day in Santa Fe. But that’s all I can smell. Just a pinch off from a pale lager color. Taste is hot, with Anaheims in the lead; nice for us chile heads. Light malts add some off-setting sweetness. Luckily, the burn does not last much past the end of the beer. harlequinn (2746), Tacoma, Washington, USA Aug 8, 2006 This was truly a great chili beer, and this one won me over, not being a huge fan of the style. I would love to have some of this to add into my chili recipe. Spicy and hot, but only initially. Well balanced, but hot, and not overpowering, just really spicy on the palate.
