BlackDonald (1039), North Carolina, USA Jul 30, 2008 This is yummy, and a must stop everytime I am driving from KC to St. Louis, I have to stop and get an Oil change for myself. Nutty roasted caramel nose, with some chocolate bar nuttiness. Rich, creamy and smooth and one of the most drinkable stouts I have ever tried. topherh (286), Kearney, Missouri, USA Jan 29, 2008 Pint at the brewpub. Pours a pitch black with an fine tan head from a nitro pour. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, and chocolate. Flavor is of chocolate and roasted malts. Very smooth and creamy due to the nitro pour. A very good stout. BückDich (4590), Boise, Idaho, USA Nov 26, 2007 Growler pour: Very little head, but tis a growler. The nose is strong with coffee and plenty of light cocoa. The flavor is sweet and pleasant, very little astringency and plenty of that coffee roastiness. The finish is good and smooth. drfabulous (784), Columbia, Missouri, USA Nov 11, 2007 This is not an oatmeal stout - or doesn’t taste like one. More of a Guiness styled stout. Creamy. Rich head. Not bad at all. Bit of sweetness to it. One of Flat Branch’s better beers. DrnkMcDermott (1591), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA Aug 8, 2007 Draft, 8/4/07. Pitch black even in a narrow sampler glass. A thin tan head is still there after 20 minutes spent on other samples. Smoky chocolate smell with mocha in the back. Taste has sweeter coffee component, with s tring of chocolate and yes, old motor oil. Yet its nitro push gives it a smooth texture. Light alochol burn at the finish.
