Commercial Description:
Black as diesel oil, Oil Change is big in roasty chocolate flavors. A large amount of flaked oats gives this stout a velvety smoothness. Oil Change is nitrogen charged to give it a thick creamy head.

This went amazingly well with the meatloaf that I ordered for lunch. An truly tasty stout, one of the best of the whole trip. Mde with 50lbs of whole oats. Superbly creamy, with some rich flavors of chocolate and creamy cocoa. Strong lingering roasty finish.

The Dan Journal #298. Tasted 9/14/09. Growler purchased 9/13/09 from the brewpub. Pitch and opaque. Very trace beige head. Smooth nose with a subtle cereal sweetness and a touch cream. Medium bodied and very smooth and almost creamy. Nutty and a touch toasty. Undertones of dark chocolate. Smooth finish. Mild and tasty.

Pours opaque black with a nitro induced creamy beige head. The nose is roasy with a certain lactic character. The flavor is big dry chocolate to a bit of an oat sweetness and a big roasted bitter finish. A real pleasure to drink.

Pint @ the brewpub. Comes black with a tan head, large head. Aroma is rich coffee with some light smoke and a b it of fumes. Taste is a bit less rich, more of a bit watery tobacco and coffee highlights. Has a medium thick mouthfeel yet easy drinking. Is it really that hard for all brewpubs to make a standard sweet stout at this level?

Amazing beer, best available in Columbia! During my senior year at Mizzou, I lived less than five minutes from Flat Branch and ate/drank there many, many times! Oil Change is spectacular with a roasty, malty big-bodied flavor. Heavy notes of chocolate and coffee, with a medium texture despite its name.

Sample at the brewpub. This beer pours oily black with a thin and compact brown head that dissipates slowly. Patches of lacing on the glass. The aroma is somewhat roasty with notes of malt and coffee. Medium, smooth body with flavors of roasted malt and coffee as well as a bit of chocolate. The finish is smooth, creamy and thin at times with a coffee flavor that lingers a bit. Overall this Stout is pretty straightforward.

This is yummy, and a must stop everytime I am driving from KC to St. Louis, I have to stop and get an Oil change for myself. Nutty roasted caramel nose, with some chocolate bar nuttiness. Rich, creamy and smooth and one of the most drinkable stouts I have ever tried.

Pint at the brewpub. Pours a pitch black with an fine tan head from a nitro pour. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, and chocolate. Flavor is of chocolate and roasted malts. Very smooth and creamy due to the nitro pour. A very good stout.
