Commercial Description:
Angry Planet is made with organic American 2-row, Cara- mel 60 and Munich malts and Cascade hops. An aroma of citrus and light toast. A nice flavorful punch of citrus hop is balanced by slight caramel sweetness and plays off on the hop bitterness.
Editor's note: This is an organic pale ale.

Poured from bottle into Nonic Imperial Pint. Slightly dark golden-amber with thin head and light lacing. Strong citrus smell from the Cascade hops. Sweet counterbalance from the grainy, toasted malts. Very prominent citrus hops, plus the hops are very flavorful, highlighted by a slightly grainy, toasted fruitiness. Somewhat bitter finish. Moderate carbonation, medium body, pretty dry finish. Possibly my favorite APA, even slightly more than Sierra Nevada, maybe because the malts are just as good as the hops. Not saying this is a malt heavy APA (it’s not, and those usually aren’t my favorites), just that it has a great balance.

Resiny hop aroma. Clear amber a litle on the dark side. Good head on the pour, but weak after that. Flavor is very bland and bitter. Mouthfeel is lively and refreshing.

9/19/2008: Flat Earth Angry Planet Pale Ale has a fresh ORANGE aroma that is slightly soapy with some soft toffee malt. I is dark copper-colored, transparent, and has an ivory head and good lacing. There is a good blend of toffee malt and orange in the flavor of this medium-bodied, well-rounded beer. Overall this is a solid pale ale that has a good malt/hop balance. It is quite sessionable.

1 pint 6 fl. oz. bottle. Thanks Tom! Rating #42 for this beer.

Tap at the Acadia. They had the wrong description on the menu. Some malt and hops. Solid pale ale that settles on the above basic.

Bottle shared by cmillward. Pours hazy copper color with off white head. Light citrus hoppy aroma with caramel malts. Sweet and slightly malty with a mild hop kick. Medium body with very lively carbonation.

Bottle… Mostly clear golden ale with a huge, frothy, off-white head. Great retention. Big-time floral, citrusy, toffee-like nose. Medium-bodied with Champagne-like carbonation. Leans way onto the sweet side of balance, offering caramel and toffee – light citric bitterness. The lengthy finish is sweet, and then astringent and dry. Bottle provided by cmillward. Thanks Chris!
