Malty and caramel without much in the way of hops in the nose. Flavor is similar with a little bit of molasses and light spices. Mouth is overly bubbly and kind of distracting. I was hoping for more. bsp77 (202), Minnesota, USA

Slightly dark golden-amber with thin head and light lacing.
Strong citrus smell from the Cascade hops. Sweet counterbalance from the grainy, toasted malts.
Very prominent citrus hops, plus the hops are very flavorful, highlighted by a slightly grainy, toasted fruitiness. Somewhat bitter finish.
Moderate carbonation, medium body, pretty dry finish.
Possibly my favorite APA, even slightly more than Sierra Nevada, maybe because the malts are just as good as the hops. Not saying this is a malt heavy APA (it’s not, and those usually aren’t my favorites), just that it has a great balance.

I is dark copper-colored, transparent, and has an ivory head and good lacing. There is a good blend of toffee malt and orange in the flavor of this medium-bodied, well-rounded beer. Overall this is a solid pale ale that has a good malt/hop balance. It is quite sessionable.
1 pint 6 fl. oz. bottle. Thanks Tom! Rating #42 for this beer.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | May 18, 2009 Bottle… Mostly clear golden ale with a huge, frothy, off-white head. Great retention. Big-time floral, citrusy, toffee-like nose. Medium-bodied with Champagne-like carbonation. Leans way onto the sweet side of balance, offering caramel and toffee – light citric bitterness. The lengthy finish is sweet, and then astringent and dry. Bottle provided by cmillward. Thanks Chris!
