Slightly dark golden-amber with thin head and light lacing.
Strong citrus smell from the Cascade hops. Sweet counterbalance from the grainy, toasted malts.
Very prominent citrus hops, plus the hops are very flavorful, highlighted by a slightly grainy, toasted fruitiness. Somewhat bitter finish.
Moderate carbonation, medium body, pretty dry finish.
Possibly my favorite APA, even slightly more than Sierra Nevada, maybe because the malts are just as good as the hops. Not saying this is a malt heavy APA (it’s not, and those usually aren’t my favorites), just that it has a great balance.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 16, 2007 Pours a nice brownish orange hue. Nice citrus and floral balance in the hoppiness on the nose as well as a slight hint of almost toffe like sweetness. The flavor is nice and accentuates the floral hoppiness nicely. Another solid offering form Jeff, and I can’t wait for #5. Skyview (4057), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA

Pours a semi-clear reddish amber brew with a decent off-white head that slowly dissolves with good retention and lacing. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, citrus peel, a touch of lemon and flowery hops. Taste is medium bodied, some carbonation with flavors of caramel malt, orange peel and a decent hop bitter throughout. Finish is slightly bitter at first and then a orange/citrus aftertaste. Hard to even tell this is an organic brew.

Nice medium copper pour with a thick off-white head that leaves excellent sticky lacing. Fresh floral and spruce aroma. Flavor has some nice subtle citrusy accents with some nectarine hints and a touch of mint with a nutty back end. Bit of a spritzy mouthfeel for an APA, but does not diminish it, Will keep my eye out for this new brewer from St. Paul. badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA

Dark copper color with no head. Aroma of orange and citrus-heavy hops with a strong floral element. The floral carries into the flavor nicely. Slight caramel malt and interestingly enough, some honey as well. One of the best organics I’ve had! FlacoAlto (2473), Tucson, Arizona, USA

This beer is well carbonated as I easily end up with almost four-fingers of pale tan colored froth in my 25cl tulip glass. The beer is a red color with copper highlights and shows a brilliantly clear, red stained, bright copper color when held up to the light. The aroma is quite hoppy, with more citrus than anything and is backed / accentuated by a caramelized malt character. Aromas of tangerines, lychee, bergamot and bright citrus oil define the fruity hop aromatics, while a significant, toasty, biscuit-laden note defines much of the malt character in this beer. While this is certainly hop focused, I like how prominent the malt character still is.
A bit fizzy as it first hits my tongue, notes of lemon zest and cracker like malt are quite noticeable though. After releasing some of the excess carbonation that toasty malt character becomes a bit more prominent as does a biting, clean, hop bitterness that lingers on the tongue in the finish along with a peppery carbonic bite. This beer is a bit too dry in the flavor to capture the expressive hop fruitiness that was notable in the aroma, but it still does manage to evoke flavors of orange zest, a touch of lychee and even a touch of kumquat. The finish has a bit of caramelized malt body to it, as well as a nice malt character that adds a bit of complexity. This is quite easy drinking, even for a 6% abv beer.
This is a nice beer, a touch more malt sweetness in the flavor would have accentuated the fruity p character better, but it would have lost the great drinkability. I am glad I got a good bottle of this!
