22 oz bottle, thanks to kmweaver for hooking me up with this! Pours a clear brown with almost a ruby hue when held to the light. Nice one finger foamy beige head that left lots of sticky lacing. The nose is roasty and nutty, a little chocolaty, and has a little earthy dirt smell. The flavor is dry roasty malt with touches of bitter chocolate and some burnt caramel. Finishes with a touch of malt and hop bitterness and a slight tinge of almost a sour mash like twang. Mouthfeel is fizzy and spritzy with a bit too much foaming carbonation. The result of all the carbonation leads to a thinnish feel in the middle. It finishes a little bit stronger with a slight clingyness. Overall, a pretty decent effort, I look forward to trying more from these guys.

Bottle (22oz). Shared with blankboy, garthicus and tupalev, my bottle via trade with Oakbluff. Deep (not cloudy) bridk-red pour, average frothy beige head. Nice dry roast aroma, mildly peppery yeast (house yeast?), hint of cola. Taste - same: dry light roast, slightly sour, stinging mouthfeel, light - just decent in the final analysis a little too light and carbonated.

HogTownHarrys bottle, shared with Harry, Paul and Jeff, thanks Harry. Appearance: Dark dark ruby, see through. Small frothy head. Aroma: Slight chocolate malt aroma, very slight, some slight malt too. Flavour: Thin, bitter-chocolate, some malt and with a very thin light finish. Not bad. A tad confusing. Nice though!

Poured to the top in a Flat Earth snifter/goblet...full-on blackness, thin ring of roasted cocoa head. Very nice. Roasty nose, dark chocolate, some anise, molasses, slightly sweet and still toasty/roasty...the kind of porter-y aroma that makes me want to keep my nose in there and search out more delights. Smooth, even-handed on the tongue...medium- bodied, rich in porter-y goodness, then dry sliding out. Some caramel peeps out in the flavor, nicely roasted, but I end up wanting more body from this guy. Good effort, though...one of my favorite Flat Earths, and one I’ll try again, for sure. Good to see more quality dark brews coming out from the locals.

Bomber from Lakeville Liquor: Pours a dark brown with a creamy tan head that leaves a tight quarter inch cap. Aroma is cocoa and coffee, light biscuit malt is discernable. Flavour is chocolate and light molasses and vanilla. Finish is light with a clean bitterness A decent, if somewhat light porter.

Dark brown/hazel pour with a two finger dirty white foamy head. Cocoa and coffee on the nose. Touch of alcohol at the roof of the mouth. Stale coffee beans at the front that get fresher towards the end. Hint of dark fruits.

Pours black, with a medium light brown head. Smells of rich, roasty malts, nuts, and some sweet caramel malt. The flavor is of some light chocolate mocha, good doses of vanilla, and some syrupy sugars. Maybe a touch of dark fruit is noticeable as well. Pretty simple porter, not overly complex, but drinks pretty well for what it is.

Bottle... DLD’08... Clear, dark ruby beer with a small, creamy, white head. The aroma seems to be all about chocolate, coffee and toasted nuts. Medium-bodied with soft carbonation. Sweet, chocolaty flavor with a mocha finish.
