IlanMan (816), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA Apr 1, 2009 Dark pour with some roasty and oaty aromas. Palate was smooth but a bit weak and thin. Had light oat flavors but needed more carbonation. incutrav (576), Woodbury, Minnesota, USA Dec 15, 2008 Very dark. Light roastiness in there. Very creamy and smooth. Easy drinking stout, really nice. Actually Hard to tell between this and the BH, as the helicopter has little coffee present in it. Im infusing my growler with coffee to see if I can make a BH clone with some real coffee taste to it. JK (2944), Richfield, Minnesota, USA Nov 29, 2008 Black. Tall, thick head. Roasted grain, malt, lightly burnt with oatmeal and some popcorn. Great, thick palate. This is some of Flat Earth’s best work. Skyview (3964), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Nov 17, 2008 Picked up 64-oz growler from brewery. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a wild and thick lumpy tan head that has great retention and thick lacing. Amazing that this stout develops a gushing and wild head even when served cold. Aroma of toasted dark malt, a hint of coffee, molasses and dark chocolate. Taste is a little heavier carbonated, medium bodied, with flavors of smoked dark black malt, some black licorice, chocolate, a wee bit of lactose and light coffee. Finish is slightly metallic with a toasted dark malt aftertaste that slowly disappears.
