Commercial Description:
Dutch for Red Herring, a distraction from the reality. Rhode Haring has a sharp sour and tart aroma and flavor mixed with a mild fruitiness created by special yeast strain. We aged this beer for over a year before blending it with a fresh batch of beer.

Bottle that I think came from DalzAle. Pours amber/mahogany with a thin ring of light white bubbles. Smells acidic/sour with some residual sugar and funk. Tastes dry, tarte and funky with a nice sourness on the finish.

Poured a slightly hazed copper color with an off-white head. Light tartness and mild cherry skin and stones in the aroma. Some sweetness with a buttery diacetyl note to the background. The flavor was on the light side as was the tartness. Dull and bland.

Second beer sampled on draught at the GTMW ’08. Pours a hazy reddish brown amber brew with a thin and creamy off-white head that has some nice spotty lacing. Aroma of mild caramel malt, tart cherries, light apples, some Belgian yeast, and a hint of honey. Taste is mildly sour, medium bodied, some carbonation with flavors of caramel malt, tart cherries, and some Belgian yeast. Finish continues its mild sour aftertaste of light cherry and some caramel malt. Not as distinct as its base Extra Medium but still a decent sour to enjoy again.

Bottle received in a traded, shared at puzzl’s house. Pours a dark blood red body with a yellow one finger head. Light cider vinegar. Tart woody balsamic accents with a medicinal dry band aid notes. Not very good.

Autumn Brew Review 2008. Murky copper color with a large head. Lots of sourness, oak and cherry aroma. Strong malt body, light fruit/cherry taste. Plenty of sourness, but not mouth puckering. Lightly tart. Very similar to a Rodenbach-style sour. Delicious.

Bomber, a bonus from tytoanderson. Thanks Ty. Drinking this while packing a box for him, shared with my gf Cyn. Pours ruddy brown with a tan head. Nose is vinegarry, sweet and slightly tart. Taste is sweet and sour, and funky. Not amazingly sour, but sour nonetheless.
