Smell was hoppy, which was a little surprising for a barleywine. Tast was good, very herbal with noticable juniper and aftertaste of alcohol. Not the best barleywine, but worth finding on tap. I have a feeling this one will grow on me. willblake (2191), Belcamp, Maryland, USA

Bit oxidized but still some life in it. Decent, balanced, simple. Proof you do not have to blow the doors off to make a serviceable, drinkable, yet still very strong ale. yespr (12422), Copenhagen O, Denmark

Light aroma, but the flavor is nice. Hints of vanilla and fruits. Layered nicely with a spicy hop finish. It’s a good beer by the fire. Papsoe (15109), Frederiksberg, Denmark

The nose is pretty bland, with wet cardboard and grains with little hops. Came across the palate about the same pretty much the same. This sis the second time I tried it and I’ve come to realize that I do not like Golden English style Barley-wines. Delirium Tremes Tastes similar; not a fan.
