DrBayern (880), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA Mar 31, 2008 12 oz., 355 ml., flip top bottle on 3/31/2008. Sturdy, medium white head that persists to the bottom of the glass, rests above a pale yellow/gold body. Grainy, biscuity, grassy aroma that also presents some subtle floral gragrances as well. Light body, lively carbonation, and a very dry palate all add to the refreshing qualities. The bitterness is right up front, fighting off any attempts of the light maltiness to come through, so it is delegated to the background. Drinks easily, but I could use a bit more malt character to boost up the body a touch and balance the bitterness a little more. Still, it’s a nice refreshing pils.
tedovertu (82), Apple Valley, Minnesota, USA Jul 8, 2008 Updated: Jul 9, 2008Bottle, Horrible beer. Extremely metallic tasting with chalky overtones. If this beer actually tastes like this then I would be ashamed to produce it. I must have gotten a bad bottle. Poured with no head and a flat body. I will track this one down again and re-rate later. zappafan99 (213), Rock Hill, South Carolina, USA Jul 5, 2008 Taste 7/8. Looks: Very pale yellow, white top. Aroma: Bread, straw, minute floral. Taste: Whole grain wheat bread. Palate: Thin dry and a little spice. An unusual mild creaminess to the body. Would be happy to drink this again. oh6gdx (5195), Vaasa, Finland Jul 3, 2008 Bottled. Pale golden colour with small white head. Aroma is saltwater, hops, some maltyness to balance it up. Flavour is quite much the same, with a rather long hoppy aftertaste. KnutAlbert (2122), Oslo, Norway Jun 26, 2008 Bottled in Berlin. The Flensburg beers are popping up everywhere, I remember when you had to go to dingy Kneipen in Flensburg to find them.
A classic Northern German pilsener. Crisp, clean, dry. Pronounced hoppiness, just as I like them. ucusty (803), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Jun 21, 2008 Clean gold pour frothy white head and spotty lacing. Straw like aroma. Crisp and clean flavor. Notable hop flavor with grassy & bready notes.
