| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 20, 2007 Pours a slightly hazy copper with a massive tan head. Rich, spicy aroma... perhaps some peanut and rummy notes. Flavour is a little weak and tinny, I had otherwise been quite impressed by the florivals I’d tried so far... but this one only had some weak rotten apple staleness and toffee to note. The finish was over before it started. JK (2960), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 20, 2007 Amber and tall head. It has the fruity aroma of a tripel, but clear looks like a dubbel. Flavor is sweet fruit and light malt with a dry, salthy finish. Good palate. Why is this rated so low? SHIG (2037), Aviano, Italy
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Mar 13, 2006 Dark brown with light brownm head. Smell was a bit sour sorta aprocote. Tasted bitter from start to finish with lots of alcohol burn and malt. Bart (1653), Brussels, Belgium
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 19, 2006 Red brown colour, huge brown head. Strong malty aroma, sweet fruits, caramel, peach and ananas? Full body, creamy. Finish is dry bitter, just a little flat near the end. Finish could be more expressive, good beet otherwise. bask (305), Leuven, Belgium
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jan 7, 2006 Cola brown colour, opaque, not very much acid. Medium beige stable dense head.
Roasted malts, chocolat, leaves, wood. Oily texture. Spicy flavour. Short malty finish. Quite thin beer. JorisPPattyn (5182), Antwerpen, Belgium
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Nov 1, 2005 Huge, yellow-brown head, dense and firm as whipped cream; opaque dark red-brown beer. Dry, woody nose, green leaves aromas. Dry, nonsweet dark malts and ambrée malts, caramel & toffee. Liquorice flavour without sweetness, unidimensional dark malts taste, empty. Flavour like extremely watery black tea. Like chewing a totally out-chewed branch of liquorice. Impossible combination of a thick malty texture and a totally empty palate. Certain slickness, dry and - did I mention empty? "Boring" is much too good for this. It is not revolting. In fact, I’m at my wits’ end. This is supposed to be the same as Affligem dubbel, and as Postel bruin. They couldn’t be more different, all three of them. Papsoe (15009), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 29, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) Dark amber, close to being brown. Large, off-white head. Some sweetish, slightly chocolatey malt-notes. Perhaps also a hint of licorice. Very smooth and delicious. A nice dubbel, although it’s just a supermarket-brand. 160696 MoritzF (4989), Bochum, Germany
